My pirate has a pet parrot. Can my bartender in York have a pet monkey?
I'm guessing the mechanism to "train a parrot" could be easily extended out to other classes?

I would enjoy this very much. Would training them to attack for 1 or 2 HP be a bit much? I've always wanted to sick a few animals on someone

Parrots trained by pirates don't attack people. But siccing your pet monkey (or pet bat if you're a shaman) would be fun.
Settlers and their native equivalent having pet goats might be amusing too.

I could see shamans and scientists gaining this skill.

I'd like a pet monkey to follow me around and fling poop at people we meet.

Now that's an awesome idea. "Your pet monkey throws poop at Admiral Benzolymethylecgonine for 1hp damage, killing him."

YEAH SCOUTS!
Trawling. Scouts and explorers alone can find extra stuff in the water. I think trawling is appropriate because the classes feel like being in a pool of sadness.

I'd be asking people "Who has the monkeys!" all the time. Why stop at monkeys. Have all the animals as pets. What about pet goats!

It should be an easy extension of the pirate skill for other classes of characters to tame animals. Or perhaps even multiple pets.
So settlers and villagers could tame goats or building up to a herd of goats. Shamans could tame bats building up to a flock of bats. Explorers and scouts could tame songbirds and have them all sitting on their shoulders and arms like Snow White. Warriors and soldiers could tame guard dogs, building up to a pack of dogs.

Grassland
There is a very deep hole here.
Also here is a large stag.
Admiral Benzoylmethylecgonine pats the stag. "Good stag. I wish I could tame you instead of bloody parrots. Then I could ride you around in my underpants like a half-smashed pistol-wielding Santa."

You are still obsessed with this idea, aren't you?
It's kinda like the turtles being made into a raft thing, isn't it?

Didn't the turtles pull the rafts?
