a. Dappled Shadow

The maligned sister of Blue Hummingbird, in her capacity as warlord of Raktam and leader of the Black Legion of the Commonwealth, sought to expand the borders eastward by attacking the French town of Port Breton. She was killed on the borders of Port Breton by Taiaka (bodyguard of Blue Hummingbird), Vercingetorix Lord of Dalpok, and the soldier Blinding Tigerclaw, who each refused to let the legacy of the dead queen be tarnished by the murderous actions of her sister. Dappled Shadow's body is interned in the Tomb of the Kings and Queens of Raktam, albeit in an unmarked stone sarcophagus. (Believing his dreams haunted by the spirit of Dappled Shadow, Blinding Tigerclaw, who died an old man, waited in fear for his last breath. Vercingetorix died of syphilis. Taiaka was appointed King of Raktam by Blue Hummingbird but disappeared before he as crowned, leaving the throne vacant).

b. Justice Hart of York

The mad judge suffocated in an accident involving a broom closet, a pony saddle, a bucket of honey, and a Turkish prostitute. His last words were, "That cannot possibly fit."

c. Batman

This mysterious outsider, who dressed up in a bat-like fetish costume and indulged in sadomasochistic crime fighting, perished at the hands of Last Laugh on a rooftop in York. The murder weapon was a plastic flower which spits acid.

d. Ernest Hemingway

Hemingway left on a boat for Paris to write a book on shargle hunting.

e. Noema Bathory-Tathers

Editor of a high-end women's magazine in London.

f. Ibn al Xuffasch

The mild mannered Bedouin astrologer and hunter, based in York, long suspected that other worldly powers looked down on him and controlled his very movements. During an opium-fueled delerium while camping at Magnus Pike's farm, al Xuffasch came to close to the truth. His mind was wiped and he was transformed by the spirits of the ancestors into a different being.

The best you can do, Neil, is guide your children. You can't live their lives for them. Milhouse might become something one day.

g. Hideo Inakajimita

The Derby-based banker and closet pornographer ate a bad fugu sushi one day and died, surrounded by his beloved etchings of nude famous Yorkers.

h. Prince Henry the Navigator

Still lost.

i. The French

A virulent disease spread through Port Breton, the symptoms of which included an inflammation of the brain such that one's native French sounded like it had been mangled by Google Translate. It also, oddly, attacked all of the French signposts in the area, the only known virus to kill both humans and dead bits of wood. While both Lafayette and Jean La Forgeron both died, Comte de St Germain returned to York to establish a French embassy there.

j. Oscar Stark

A Russian living in York for about a week 7 years ago who died of obscurity.

Funny how all my children became shamans, AFTER I decided I was going to be ghosty for a year.

Stupid kids, always trying to mess with their Dad.

I remember Batman, yes... that guy was a freak. Always terrorizing the good people of York. Someone had to put an end to his dry humping and bad hair days.

Given that 4 (that i know of) are yours, I imagine you could decide your own fates for them. Myself, I always chose deliberate fates to kill of my characters, usually unpleasant ones. Apart from Dani al-Ghazali, Gorry Louis, and The Hierophant, who are resting in their tombs awaiting activation,

Jeanette Prosper was martyred by Grayson Hunt, now lives on as the Saint of Beer, or something like that.
Mencken died at his own hands rather than face capture by the Royals.
Ricardo Reis died of starvation, waiting for an order at the Hanged Misfit.
The High Priestess vacated her post as York's protector just in time for a cannibal to eat her.
Ciaran O'Neill was killed by Pelleas. Idk what for, she's a child ffs. Well ok and she smokes and kills people.
Qui Lime Pi was eaten by a tiger.
Chief Joe apparently died by a knife from Shanks McBitey, but, I'd prefer to believe he died of alcohol poisoning. More honorable.

And etc.

Etherdrifter, a rather gifted planewalker, escaped the planar prison that is shartak via a gate made at the heart of the isle from the bones of his enemies.  He's currently regenerating his body and renewing his acquaintance with silver sake.  It's not quite happily ever after but it's as happy as bad guys tend to get.

One of these days he intends to open a portal back to the isle and toss some coconuts through just to satisfy his sense of propriety.

Admiral Benzolethyl is going on holiday to London and France for three weeks, so you might not see him about for a little while.

The Comte de St-Germain is communing with the spirit of Cagliostro and might be out of touch for a similar time.

YEAH SCOUTS!

Trawling. Scouts and explorers alone can find extra stuff in the water.
I think trawling is appropriate because the classes feel like being in a pool of sadness.

And hey, I had a coffee with backwards 7 in Hyde Park. We had a good laugh.
