Welcome, I'm also Jesus Christ in game, so we've seen each other a fair bit lately.

I think trawling is appropriate because the classes feel like being in a pool of sadness.

Hello all.

I run three outsider characters:

Timothy Trust, gentleman pirate and burgeoning entrepreneur.
Henry Quantos, pacifist explorer and road-builder of Durham.
Kristofer Schanz, fanatical soldier of Derby.

I also run two native characters, both newer:

Skimpy Spacklemouth, bearlike warrior of Raktam.
Justine, exotic shaman of Wiksik.

UPDATE:

My newest character, after First Amongst Daves dragged me back to the game, is:

Edward de Vere of d'Urham.

I do not see any new posts here for quite some time.  I will plunge in and introduce myself anyways. I am known as Dam Frawd.. I have wandered various shadows across this modem thingy for a few decades now. I am not quite sure how I got here, but then again, I am never quite sure how I end up anywhere.

You sound like an old. I am also an old. There are a few of us bobbing about on our 300 baud Hayes rigs yet. Smiley

Welcome to Shartak. I recommend killing pirates, they seem to enjoy that.

OK, I'll cop to it. I am an old. I started BBs'ing when I upgraded my Vic 20 to a Commodore 64. I could only take a week or so of the 300 baud before I ran out and upgraded to the newfangled, super zippy, 1200 baud modem. I've been interacting with  folks thru the modem ever since. First it was door games like Tradewars or Operation OverKill. Then the swap to the internets mmorpgs. I don't know how I didn't stumble over Shartak sooner. But I am quite enjoying it

I like Shartak a lot. I learned about it by playing Urban Dead.
In my opinion, Shartak is a much better game but I have a lot of friends on UD so I still play.

I'm a Old Lady Newbie.  I started computers with Apple II serial # 48 but I've never been a real programmer.  I just found Shartak and I'm enjoying because it's a lot like games I played zillions of years ago.

My only problem here so far is GPS.  I've got one bu I can't find something that will help by putting the lat/long on a map.

I'll keep looking and playing.

P.S.  I was guided here by Dam Frawd who is a youngster far as I can tell.

I shall also post here since it has been... years since I played. Hello to all the new people and hi to all the OGs still here. Is there a chrome extension to grease monkey to work? I tried one, but it didn't work right.

I use Tampermonkey on chrome, and so far it works fine. I don't use it on Shartak though, so you'd have to test yourself.
