As you can see, it's rather a boring looking forum right now. I hope to be customising the appearance over the next few days and appointing some moderators, etc.
Please post suggestions for the sub-boards here. Based on the previous forum, I'd say:
* Out of Character
 - Forum discussion : discussion about forum features, moderator appointments etc
 - General game discussion : general discussion about Shartak
* In Character
 - Natives
 - Outsiders/Pirates
 - Clans : clan recruitment postings
* Other?
 - Trash

Possibly under the 'other' category, you may include 'forum games', or something to that effect.  Grin This would most likely be a no-post-count area, I suppose.

I'd say the best general three sections would be an 'Out of Character' and 'In Character' and a 'Off Topic' section, however they be named. Out of character could looks good as it is...unless we really want a 'Suggestions' section. I don't really see a reason why the 'In Character' part should be divided in 'Outsiders' and 'Natives' etc., that proved not too necessary. Finally, 'Off Topic' for all things not connected to Shartak.

I would say go with Simon's suggestions.
Under Other maybe have the Other Gaming or something along those lines.

I wouldn't have that end one as 'Trash'.

How about, 'Games, Pointless and Rubbish'?

I would humbly suggest the following:

Introductions:

Please introduce yourself here....

Game Topics:

Suggestions;
Questions;
Findings;

In Character:

Native;
Outsider;
Pirate.

Out of Character:

All (these do not need to be seperated, surely?) - out of character is almost "off topic"  Huh?

Other Games:

Other games (MMORPG);
Other games (other genre);

Off topic:

Shooting the or whatever;

Why English??? (private joke).

How about making the Pirate, Outsider and Native sub-forums private to their own?

I agree with the different sub-forums for the clans.

Making private sub-forums for natives or outsiders whould take away much from the appeal of an official forum. Here, all players should be able to mangle and see what is going on. There are several clans with private forums or newsgroups already, so the privacy part is pretty much covered.

We don't need lots of sub-boards, we could just stick with what we have, as Simon suggesed, and let people make their own threads.

vis:

> OC
    >> forum
    >> game
> IC
    >> natives
    >> outsiders
    >> pirates
    >> clans
> general off topic
> archives

Sub-sub-boards should only be made if a thread gets freakin' huge and warrents it.

:EDIT: Could the in-game link to here button be moved? I keep clicking on it when trying to log out...

Yep, that looks fine. Also an archive is nice, so the sub-forums stay quite clear. One general OT could be enough for the start, if there are too many different themes (games, music, books, movieas, xxx and other stuff) it can still be arranged later.

just my two cents

I'm all for a 'Other games' or 'gaming' subforum in an 'out of character' section.

Clan Subforum in the 'In Character' section is vital. Most clans recruit using forums and it's always good for public access.
