Yep, $5 is pretty much nothing, thanks to the almighty power of the British £! Mua ha ha! There's nothing to be proud about stubborness. There's no reason for you people not to be using the Euro, it would benefit your country and more importantly Europe as a whole

was it in or out of C? And what do you mean by "sell uk out to brussels"? Peoples tend to repeat it here too (new prime minister sold us to the rotten and liberal eu), but as far as I know, tighter relation with eu means pure profit for us.

We're still using swedish currency over here, and I prefer it that way. Last government of ours tried to push the euro over our heads years ago, but the population just didnt feel the same way at all, and so we're still unabsorbed into that economic mess.

As well it should be! There's no room left for the "Old Britain"
Uneducated self-righteousness and blind jingoism may be what the masses respond to, but that doesn't mean it's right.
We're heading for a global economy, a dissolution of the walls that've kept humanity split apart for so long. Anything hindering that is suspect, especially when there is no logical reason!

Really?
The logical reason is Britain doesn't want to lose a strong currency and gain a weaker one. Especially when it means the strong economies prop up economies that are s***.
I personally don't want to finance the lativian economy with my taxes. I hate the fact that we give more to the EU than we receive and receive stick when we complain about it.
It's a left wing communist invention the EU. Bastardized from the idea of Europe security after WW2. We all saw what happened with our european 'allies' in IRAQ. The USA is all the partner we need. Europe can go f*** themselves for we care.
Thank god labour scum aren't going to be running Britain for much longer.

Ah yes. I always forget the British Isles aren't part of Europe, and that the reason for the EU isn't to diffuse economic tensions amongst European countries but to give hemispheric domination to bureaucrats in Brussels and the Hague. How many Tories are MEPs, anyway? 36?
God help us if the pound stirling and the krona were to go the way of those other shabby currencies, the deutchmark and the franc.
Next thing you know the damn Scots will want independence and separate representation in the EU! Its not like they're culturally different! They're Old Britain, by Jove!
Tom, want to calf this iceberg and move it to the offtopic forum? This should be fun.
