I just may take your suggestion. Old bones may not yield as much interest as the flesh, but they do yield interest.

true, but if you cross archaeology with your interest in psyc, you could find a path in forensic psychology.

Forensic psychology has nothing to do with archaeology or forensic anthropology. Forensic just means 'having to do with the law,' essentially. Forensic anthropology usually entails determining age, ethnicity and sex from an unknown set of human remains, fleshy or no.
I've spent the past few semesters up to my elbows in human/hominid skulls and other assorted bones so the topic is near and dear to me.

I'm watching a BONES marathon at this very moment, amusingly enough. Do you find it entertaining, KB?

Is cool. At least you didn't ask if archaeologists dig up dinosaurs. I get that a lot, sadly.
Steak (is that you?) - I never really got into Bones, I just don't like that style of show or maybe I was disturbed by Deschanel's massive forehead. I got a few classmates that like to watch it and poke fun at the inaccuracies though. It sensationalizes how things work like any CSI-type drama.

Yeah, [The Rock] FINALLY... THE STEAK HAS COME BACK TO SHARTAK! [/The Rock] It's me, how've you been?
Are you serious? I think Emily Deschanel's hot stuff. It is a drama above all else, with characters the viewer can connect to. Can you list any inaccuracies that may come to mind while viewing Bones?

She's good looking, just not for me. That describes my whole reaction to the show, really. It's fine, I have no complaints, it just never hooked me. I'm glad that it exists just for introducing anthropology into popular culture.
I haven't watched enough episodes to speak first-hand about inaccuracies, and forensic anthropology isn't my specialty anyhow... I remember my classmates laughing about something involving mummies.
One of my professors does forensic anthropology on the side. The work he does is strictly putting together a profile of the individual for the medical examiner - things like age, sex, race, health, etc. so that the body can be matched to missing persons reports. That's the extent - if he starts talking about things like cause of death in his report, the ME gets irritated. Forensic anthropologists aren't really included in the investigative side of things, but that wouldn't make for a very entertaining show. There is a good amount of investigative anthropological work done on things like mass graves in Kosovo and MIAs in Vietnam in real life though.

Well Zeek, I have studied a bit of forensic science, and while it peaks my interests, I prefer a more.....how should I say this.....less serious career. Forensics seems like it may be a bit more of a time consuming, and in the long run, stressful career that would interfere with my social life. Psychology, luckily, isn't necessarily a "spur of the moment" type of career path.

Zoey Deschanel makes me catface. I've heard that she might play the world's first programmer in an upcoming film.

being someone who knows about up to 6th grade science, i have to say that I love the show Bones. It's just like any detective show from the past or present, but I love the characters! Emily Deschanel's character is facinating to me, partly because I actually know someone a lot like her, but her interactions between the other characters is hilarious!!
How has no one mentioned David Boreanaz? He's probably the best thing about the show!! Oh my, so gorgeous. Vampire turned FBI badass... how hot is that?
Sorry boys, had to add my girlish charm!

I'm not too into Bones really. NCIS and Law &Order have their moments, but that's pretty much it

There aren't enough lawyers and consultants and too many unsubstantiated accusations and luminol on investigation procedurals. Setting a terrible example for citizens and officers of the law. Exercising your right to an attorney is not an admission of guilt in any way.
I'm just waiting for the Michael Crowe episode of The Closer.

I thought i'd be interesting to see the judicial system first hand... you don't in jury duty, but you do get very familiar with the hallway.
