Can you please vote for your favorite?

I'm not telling you exactly what I'm doing, but maybe I'm just curious...maybe I'm writing a book.

Maybe I've learned how to program games for xbox live and I'm going to publish something for Lionhead Studios.

But if you believe that, then hear me when I say I'm actually Willian Shatner.

Fantasy World Future, Warhammer 40k, FTW!

Zombies in a fantasy world furture would be sweet, with pirates  . By the way, my dream job would be making video games!

B&W Was the Win as far as creature fightig and rock lobbing went. I had great fun smashing buildings to pieces and ordering my good creature to destroy enemy towns.

Anywhom. Warhammer 40k is also the Win as far as future fantasy goes, though Tiberian Sun comes in at a close second.

Double post. Yeaaaargh!

If it was a fantasy, would you consider Dragons to be widespread, rare, in captivity or extinct?
And do you consider Orcs to be Tolkien or Warhammer style?

If we're talking about the huge powerful intelligent and overall kickass kinds of dragons, then either rare or extinct. Widespread would mean every other race would pretty much be nothing but pawns in their games, and captivity... Well, see how I described them at first. Would take some godlike stuff to contain these bastards while fully grown.

Rare could still mean they have large influence over areas and their inhabitants, while their longevity and competence could keep them alive against low birth rates and power hungry creatures around. Extinct if they fail at this, or wasnt quite flexible enough to manage surviving as a rare species who has to work with "lower" creatures to attain what goals they can have in the ruins of their own grand time long lost in the past.
Or not at all. Dragons are a stereotype among so many others, and have been abused in so much fantasy that its hard to make anything original about them at all anymore, without it being completely silly.

Orcs? Well, I've always seen them as with Tolkiens style, but the movies made them look... different. Depends on the style you wish to portray with the world, I suppose. The exaggerated style of warhammer might work with certain worlds, but I would make them at least a bit more reasonably physically built. Not just as containers for green stuff and adrenaline, but as a race actually able to live with occationally not smashing eachother to bits as well.

Hey don't get all worked up, I don't think Rob has top job of actually planning what the game will be.

I dunno about Orcs just yet, but Dragons.. Uhm, Jhelai has strong views on this matter eh?

I'd just say, dragons would be rare or a mite difficult to find(Or there'd be a lot less humans and other races, think dinosaurs) but because they fight each other as well as every other race. Elemental dragons or area specific dragons (Mountain Dragons, Sea Dragons, Cave Dragons, etc.) with some dragons being more powerful or something like that and thus rarer (Longer breeding cycle less offspring, top of the food chain type) perhaps?

Um, yeah... Lets just say I've created my own share of worlds ever since I first got hold of pen and paper when I was but a small elven child. Never was too fond of reality. Was mostly mentioning the commonly used behaviours and styles for the creatures involved, and what to follow or avoid depending on what he wants with his world. And since he asked, its better to get more feedback than less, isnt it?

Two ideas about Dragons:
1. An order of holy warriors has subdued some, and trapped them on an island who's thermals are so intense that not even dragons can fly away from the place. They then exterminated all the other ones they could find, because they were a threat to mankind/elfkind/orckind/dwarfkind. However, they still exist in teh wild but are extremely rare.
2. They breed like Pandas, resulting in very few Dragons born per year, thus keeping thier number down, also because of hunting and infighting.

I think Orcs should be both, actually. Greenskin and Blackskin Orcs, some with tusks and some without, as an inteligent race, but still known for their battle ferocity. This and Dragons 1. are elements of the world I've made, but may or may not be on the world that i'm making thier thread for discussion of.

What do you think?

Why won't you come up with your own idea of orc/goblin/troll-alike creatures? I'd love to see more fantasy with no typical orcs and no typical dragons Michael Moorcock ftw!

As far as I know, my Trolls are different to any incarnation fo Trolls I've seen before.

You know Kremi Tundra. Basicaly human, but more wiry muscle, longer limbs, sharper teeth and less of a love of caves and mountains, prefering hills, forest and tundra. Hills for the defensive positions and hunting, forests for the same and tundra because they're exiled from Ice Continent civilisation, and have a knack at ice-fishing and karibou hunting. They're basicaly as inteligent as the Orcs of my world, but they've got more stigma against them

But we're not talking about my world...I want to know what kind of things you'd like to see in this game/other world/whatever it is, that i'm talking about.  cool

I've always thought of the D&D type orcs, who are able to form a society and keep mostly everything together while at the same time waging war on the settlements around them. The orcs in D&D, while being violent, are still able to live together for the most part without bashing eachothers brains out. And yes, I play D&D.  Tongue

My wings are clipped, my voice stilled,

Im into future fantasy, mainly 40k, but I also like regular fantasy as well. I've always imagined Dragon's to be rare, yet some breeds have more numbers (such as the White Dragon, which is a big stupid brute, compared to the other big smart brutes).

Orcs to me are just savages, through and through. You can't describe em any other way.

Arrgh I used to be so into that! But I'm the only one in my group who'd actually read the books, so I was constantly forced to DM, and even worse for a load of people with no real concept of "Don't attack Town Guards"
