I thank all the benevolent people who helped me in getting the beast. This would not have happened without you. Here are the heroes of the hunt: Tioram - spotted and reported a squid. Also gave up his life in tracking the beast. SillyLilyPily - a brave Wiksik maiden, intercepted the beast and lured it into the shallower waters. Also did a lot of useful machete swinging and inspiring cheering. Vlad the Sureshot - a courageous passer-by who stopped to enjoy the hunt and help smashing the beast despite having no healing supplies. 4/5 of this kill belongs to them. The same amount of cake as well.

Oh my, I found a biggum. You attack the fully-grown giant squid with a cutlass for 3 damage. It drops to 289 HP. A fully-grown giant squid attacks you for 8 damage. -70.081,+26.419

My brother in law who plays also said he spotted a squid yesterday in the deep on the southern central section of the island coast. Naturally I said `GPS co-ords?`. His response was a question mark.
How annoying.

Victor found a monster, far out in deep water at the very east edge of the world: You attack the fully-grown giant squid with a heavy sword for 5 damage. It dies. You gain 228 XP.
Lots of FAKs (25ish), and enough XP->AP conversion to make me cringe (7K? I lost count), but I finally got my squid badge. I think it was at 208 health when I found it, so thanks to Cy and whomever else got some hits in before I got there; let me know who else tore it up, I owe you a beer. I'm assuming, from size and location (-70.070 by 26.417), that this was the beast Cyadora had indicated in her last map posting.
*sigh* I only wish it were Halloween so I could do it again...

Well done Victor.
Makes me think Ibn's littoral patrols for squid should be blue water instead.

That's what Ahnaom thought after making one full loop around the island and seeing none of them. The one he actually got was spotted in the deepest waters accessible. Them squids are sneaky. Might be that they all pop up in the depths and then slowly drift to the shore.
