After the business I used to be part of went under, I decided to start my own.

The Jungle Engineers, a clan dedicated to change the density of the jungle in exchange for money.

Quote
If you need to get jungle cut down or grown back, we're here to help you!

For just a few golden coins, you can maintain the roads that communicate you with the other people of Shartak.
Altough we mainly focus on keeping roads open, we also have other services to offer, such as blocking roads, maintaining and blocking towns, chopping down trees to make words apear in the jungle, and any kind of other job that involves manipulating the density of the jungle.
We also use the most modern gardening techniques, like "watering" and "chopping", which allows us to get a density 0 square to density 10 in just eleven days!

Here is our price list:
Clearing a square - 1 golden coin per square.
Maintaining a quare (keeping it empty) - 1 golden coin a week per square.
Accelerating regrowth - 2 golden coins per square.
NOTE: prices may change at any moment.

Special deals can be arranged for huge projects like town or road maintainance.
Payments must be made in advance.

To contact the Jungle Engineers, send a personal message to 0000FF Beard (http://forum.shartak.com/index.php?action=profile;u=146) on the official Shartak forum.

If you want to work for us, however, simply join this clan, and check this page regularly to see if a task is available near you.
We can't promise you any work though, because user started businesses haven't really been very successful on this island yet.

I understand that I might never get any client at all, and that this clan might fail like many others, but I thought it was still worth trying.

Any comments?

2 gold coins a square? Sounds kinda costly.

The flight was heavenly
the sky my ocean
As I soared beyond the clouds
and golden voices called me home
You asked "Do you believe in love?"
and I shook my head
So, your sins unto me as I fall down
never to return from this land
My wings are clipped, my voice stilled,
Goodbye.

Very true, that's why I've changed it now.
It'll only cost 1 coin to clear a square.

Could your clan construct, maintain, and operate a toll road under Durham Utility contract?

At least I don't lose money with my deals

Once the current job is finished, we should be able to consturct and maintain a road near Durham.
I'll have to find someone near York to do the York part, though, becuase I don't think Yorkmen will want to see me.
One more thing: what exactly do you mean with "toll road"?

Charging people to use it, I imagine, for a voluntary fee.

Your price is a little steep. By way of a one-off contract, I'd pay your clan 200 gold coins to post signs and clear the foliage along Corsair Boulevard.

I've never defaulted on a debt, and I'm offering him a job. Sounds like he has a service which people will spend money on.

Your price is a little steep.

I know
It's just that maintaining roads does not give much XP, it can be boring and it's also dangerous.
And charging something like half a coin makes it quite complicated.
Anyway, as I said earlier, special (and cheaper) deals can be arrenged

By way of a one-off contract, I'd pay your clan 200 gold coins to post signs and clear the foliage along Corsair Boulevard.

Sounds very good.
I'll try to find someone to do it, beacause I myself am pretty busy right now, as you probably noticed.

Do you even get money?

I hope I do
EDIT: I know I can thrust you, Daves.

For work you could go offer your services to the more organised clans like the Eastern Federation. It could be like a certain fee per month to keep a road running...
Established clans are probably your best bet for getting employed...

Also, have you contacted any other road-maintaining clans/individuals? There are a few characters dedicated to keeping roads mantained... if they all belonged to the same clan you could become a SUPERPOWER - ruthlessly controlling all travel in Shartak... probably...

The Eastern Federation was the clan I had in mind to work for when I created this business, but before I could even talk to them I already had several deals on my hands.
I know that there are more players that could work with me, but I just have so many things to do that I can't go around the island contacting them one for one.
I'll have to hire someone else to do that for me lolz

Thanks for the tips, though

Where are they working?  Grin
