The 1st Derby PrivateersFor those who dont know, we are a Police Faction, operating in the outsider town of Derby. We kill, or bring to trial, PKers - people who kill other people, and other miscreants from the law. We also run trade shipments with the Shipwreck thanks to our Trade Sergeant, G3N.
We are one of the two founding clans of the Eastern Federation, the collection of large clans operating in Derby. We make up the internal Law Enforcement (with trading on the side), while our allies in the Derby Hospitallers handle both Education and Healthcare, and our other allies in the Derby Rangers make up our Standing Army. Together, we provide numerous Safehouses for visiting pirates and natives, but only the ones who mean us no harm of course.
What Can I Do? And What's In It For Me?-Check our wanted list, find, then excecute PKers. But dont forget to tell them they can also take thier case tyo court.
-Join G3N in his trade missions (This will get you more gold than the average Privateer starting wage, which is currently 5gc a month)
-Keep our safehouses maintained, and tell the rest of us if you've witnessed a murder.
-The starting wage of a Privateer is currently 5gc per month, and for longer standing members, this is 10gc. However, this is likely to increase during any war-like situation and if more gold comes in from G3N's trading.
-You gain full standing as a member of the Eastern Federation. Not that you couldn't do this anyway, but if you're in the Derby Rangers, Privateers or Hospitallers, then its double official.
-As well as being a Privateer, you can join other clans too. Weather Privateer is your primary or not. If you want a break from killing or trading, why not go healing with the Hospitallers? Or for a change of scenary with your bloodlust, the Derby Rangers? Maybe even the Jolly Roger Gang if you keep your raiding life and policing life separate.
Why Would I Want To Join A Clan Anyway? Don't I Just Get Some A**hole Boss Telling Me What To Do? I Get Enough Of That In Real Life!-Well actualy, our jobs benefit the town, and you get that sense of a job well done when you put down a scumbag like Glock - Policing is a valuable role-playing experience.
-Friendships made in the Privateers extend beyond the game, at the Federation Forum you can talk about all kinds of out of game stuff, and even play one of the RPG games running on there if the mood takes you.
-Plus, I never realy boss the Privateers around. If you get an order, but you have every right to refuse it, and you can take a couple of weeks holiday from duty if you like, go and explore a bit.
But I'm From Wiksik/York/Raktam/The Shipwreck/Durham/Dalpok!So? Tommy Atkins, York, he's one of our most valuable members! I myself an a practicer of the Wiksik art of head-taking, Greta Van Hausen and G3N are both pirates! So anyone is welcome to join!
