Well, never thought I'd write one of these. Oh well, here goes. Due to life happening rather suddenly (ie going to university, moving to a big city, inexplicably developing an IRL social life and getting a girlfriend) Algy, my last active character, may not be active all that often anymore. I apologise for this, I'll do my best to stay involved but I can only do so much. To Giovanni, Phil, Tala, and the other Palermo regulars, sorry to say this rather sudden-like but I'd rather say something than just drop off the face of the earth for periods of time, y'know? Again, I'll do my best to keep playing, but if I do vamoose for bits at a time, please keep it classy while I'm out of the loop.  Sincerely Firel/Algy Templeton |

I believe the word you're looking for is honest. I like the characters Firel made, but the few times I've gone back to Palermo over the past couple of months, Algy's been out to lunch. Like for days at a time. So, sorry to see you make one of these threads to let everyone know you're *really* gone this time. Though to be honest I prefer how Bobby and Iceman did it, just vanishing, no long goodbyes. |

The more I think about it, RP was and is definitely a huge factor in maintaining regular players. Of course, RPing almost invariably leads to politricking.

Well, mainly in response to Mencken, I didn't want to just scarper, seemed a bit off to do that. And as for the long bouts of inactivity, I was telling myself things like "next month I'll make time to play Shartak more" but I've finally realised that they'll need to make the day longer for me to be able to do that. And this isn't a goodbye in the strictest sense of the term, I'll be around occasionally. I'm gonna try and keep Algy active, at the very least. My main reasoning for this topic was in case Algy goes idle and I don't wake him up, I'd rather say my piece now. =P Thank you all for the comments, nice to know that my characters (mostly Algy) didn't totally fly under the radar. And I assure you, if I do decide to properly leave, there will be some RP going into it. P.S. Katie, Otyr isn't quite done yet. I do have plans for him when I find the time.  |
