Yeah... I'm afraid I probably won't have time too often. Maybe around Thanksgiving? Or Christmas, more likely.
Well, the first game, with a bot on each side, was on a fairly small map and ended by 3:45, after an hour and 15 minutes. The NPC on Raffles's side still had two 3rd-level dwarves at the end, one of whom actually leveled up past that (I think the other one might have died towards the end as well), but those were the only units left, and I had a serious army of recruits bearing down on it with some support from my ally, while Raffles had been completely obliterated.
The second game, oddly enough, had a far larger map (we both thought it seemed more like a 4-player one) filled with mountains and other difficult terrain. That ran for... I guess an hour and 45 minutes, so only a half-hour longer than the first one, but it seemed a *lot* longer, and only ended when the turns ran out (end of turn 20), but it was fairly close to ending with Raffles having like 30 undead units bearing down on the 7 remaining loyalists I had in the area of my castle. Somehow Raffles got a massive army of units and brought them up all at once after quite a few turns, and my units got slaughtered a couple at a time.
So, anyway... seems to me like game length is largely map-dependent. I unfortunately couldn't find the option to determine the size of a random map, so we got a giant one.
