I was just wondering if anyone has seen the conch shell lately, and if there's been any research done on what its properties are. Edit: Sorry if this is the wrong section to post this. I know it was at the shipwreck trader's hut a couple weeks ago, but I haven't seen it since. Can it be buried? If you swim out to deep water and drop it, will it stay there until the next person finds it? So many questions

You cannot bury it, drop it or give it away...........well you cant anymore. Once you have it it is yours until you die or trade it in for 100gc.
I think the only way to `place it` would be to get killed on a certain spot of your choosing by a pre-defined person, someone whom you trust not to just pick it up and run...........although im not sure if the person who kills you just gets it off you as soon as you die, automatically like.

It's not automatic, you have to pick it up. But it is instantly available.

IC {& OOC to get all Techy about it} Costs {10 AP} quite a Lungful to Blow on, can be seen immediately {on screen} upon espying it's current bearer no matter the distance {viewable area}. Has no custom tile of it's own but is {readable if it's within view in lower case as if it were a creature} assensable nonetheless. Sonic range unknown, but suffice to say we in CAT Clan have tracked Conch Blowers out into deep oceans before, seeking it's user/s, and have yet to have established it's limits. Kinda a fun lil toy, but I suspect all of it's powers and functions somewhat escapes us.

Radio BarnCat drops a conch shell as they fall to the ground dead. The parrot on Radio BarnCat's shoulder flies away. You attack Radio BarnCat with a wooden club for 3 damage. They die. You gain 45 XP. You pick up the conch shell. Looking closely, you see it could be possible to blow into it and make a sound. You also recognise this as being something wanted by traders. Perhaps you could get a reward for taking it to one of them. Yes, he was bringing it on commission to the Royal Court for experimentation. Bring it home, and we can play with it. An outsider scientist, Olivia Appleby, is in the Palace to assist in its assessment.

Forgot to watch the xp change and it doesn't say or get recorded anywhere. Added: Earned 34 xp from blowing outside of town and 44 xp from inside a busy hut.

44xp, nice. And you say its 10ap to blow it, hmmmm.
So 265 bottles of fungi juice, 106 healing herbs, your standard 75ap and the conch shell could yield a record breaking 6160xp gained in one day, without a single kill.

* CyAdora looks for the 'like' button. I seem to remember the Conch-Shell abuses enjoyments of the past rather well. pH, that group that was a lot of fun, hosted ConchStock off of Skull Island one summer. Gang's all here style, drinking salt water and dying as you blew, then a team-mate making the kill hit and picking it up for themselves... that lasted d a y s. And Killy, mathamastermind, got it into 'Sacred FailSpace' where I believe he set a record for xp/day. Blowing his brains out because he could not be killed.

A wondrous device. Take a note of the number of people in the med hut and the royal court when you try it so we can work out the ration of XP to people in the immediate vicinity.
