Lasses and gents,

It's been a long while since the pirates have bloodied their blades as one. Many of these land-leggers seem to have come under the impression that we've gone soft and an old sea captain says we ought ter show 'em the error of their ways. It be high time we made a name for ourselves as the most dangerous, untrustworthiest, lowliest, blood-thirstiest lot of backstabbin' cutthroats the island has ever seen.

There shall be a war, a contest of sorts, ye've done waited long enough. We're unleashin' our blades and guns on Derby and we be showin' no mercy ter the civilized folk therein. They be a solid stronghold of outsider forces and there surely be plenty of loot ter plunder from the ashes.

Official Contest Rules:

Rules are subject to change throughout the course of the contest.

Points for Killing People:

(Underworld Log is necessary for kill.  Kills only count for victims Level 3 and above.)

   * +1 for Initial Kill
   * +3 for Derby Citizen
   * +7 for Serial Killer (+500 Player Kills)
   * +5 for Slaughterer (100-499 Player Kills)
   * +3 for Butcher (50-99 Player Kills)
   * +2 for Killer (20-49 Player Kills)
   * +1 for Aspiring killer (1-19 Player Kills)
   * -5 for Peaceful (0 Player Kills, Bonus points null on these targets.)
   * -5 for Pirates or fellow Contestants (Pirates that have turned coat are excluded from this. Bonus points null on these targets.)

Bonus points:

Screen Shots needed for Bonus points to be effective.  All Screen Shots should be posted in this thread or sent to me via PM if you want to be Anonymous.

   * +1 for Healing a Fellow Pirate or Brigand that is participating in the contest (For Every First Aid Kit used, Screen shot required)
   * +1 for Taunting (If I deem a Taunt unworthy, I will not include it in the total points.  You have been warned.)

The contest begins on June 4th (midnight server time) and will last for two weeks. Any pirate or member of The Bloody Legion of Black-Hearted Brigands may participate. All contestants should either post their profile here, or send me their profile via PM. There shall be no anonymity, we're proud of what we are. The contest ends June 17th (midnight server time). The contestant with the highest score at the closing of the contest wins.

The prize has yet ter be announced. Simon be a busy man, so I don't want ter assume he be willin' ter make a custom item for us just yet. In the event that a custom item don't be made, I be willin' ter shell out a sum of 500 gold coins instead. So either way, no winner be goin' home empty-handed.

We've all been milling around long enough, no thanks ter me, so most of ye' should already be in the area. If enough contestants need another day or two ter get their arses over here, I don't mind pushin' the starting date back a day or two, but some of the others may mutiny over it.

The contest format was transcribed from an old scroll written by the old man Tathers with a few additions and omissions. I liked it, hope he don't mind.

Contestants and Points:

Captain Low = 0
FirstAmongstDaves = -2
Zhao Shi Li = +6
Gorry Louis = +7
Nigel the Pirate = 0
Johnny Hobo = +5

Can Derby citizens and friends participate in this contest too? If so, what are our points based off of? Sorry that we got a head start but it doesn't count until the 4th anyway.  Grin

Captain, I have a technical issue with screenshots. Shartak on iPad/iPhone doesn't have capability. I'll need to rely on the Underworld.

My profile: http://www.shartak.com/profile.cgi?id=4770

Current Derby headcount is 6. If that figure has not trebled by month's end, I'll eat Nigel the Pirate's underpants.

Underworld's fine for kills and all. As far as bonus points, they're only +1 at the moment, let's try to vouch for those who have issues with screenshots. If anyone's really going to go overboard and cheat they'll likely get sniffed out by those they kill. Hopefully we can just have some fun and not have to worry about too much bean-counting.

Not a pirate, but....

Johnny Hobo wants to join the fray! If I'm not allowed in the contest, I'll be around anyways to help out any enterprising pirates I may see.

Thought it looked familiar.  I would add points for kills in the swamp.

But that's cause I have hard ons for swamps.

Yarr, it wouldn't be a shindig wi'out the cabin boy!

http://www.shartak.com/profile.cgi?id=15395

Although I'm not sure what good he'll be with the worst shroomover in history.

I think bonus points for successive kills would be good - within ten minutes, say, to allow for a bit of bragging. Or for kill-streaks - a bonus point for every kill past five without dying, for example. This would balance out the lack of feasting points, and reward clever/impressive play.
