A new bar has opened in York!

A bar in York? You're mad! I know that's what you're thinking, what with everyone killing each-other and a seemingly long-standing reputation for being the repository for the less than gentle folk on the island.

A bar? I don't think giving madmen alcohol sounds like a good idea! The studies that I have just made up have reported a definite change in the happiness of population when liquor is in store! Why, before The Hanged Misfit came along, everyone in Derby were reportedly gun-toting mobs with no recognizability of law or even basic hygiene!

Okay, you got me, so what makes The Sour Apple different than other bars? Well, we will be putting an emphasis on community action. I will be posting odd-jobs on the bulletin boards anyone to go do, and I will always pay for a service well done! I believe that a bar, any bar, should be a focal point of fun and that everyone should join in. Are you a wandering guitarist that wants to play a mournful song of your days on the road? A cannibal poet with a heart of gold and a mouthful of outsider flesh?  Maybe you're a gunslinger who wants to keep the streets of York safe for those to walk? We welcome you all to a new place of comfort and intoxication!

Who's this 'we'? Dani al-Ghazali and I will be working on the bar together. Now, I know he was apparently just ran out of Durham on a rail. But! I think we can all agree that he is a fruitful addition to York and will fit in just fine. Everyone give the guy a friendly York greeting (And no, don't toss rotten fruit at him!), and maybe a crab in celebration. It's not everyday we have someone new in our settlement!

The menu prices are as follows:

-Beer/rum: 1gc
-Juice: 2gc
-Brewed Drinks: 4gc
-Salt water: No Charge

Brewed drinks/juice will change on availability, sweethearts, so first come first serve!

What York is today

What York can be with the Sour Apple and a little love! (Except lets hope there are more patrons! No good if it's an empty room).

The Sour Apple...because sometimes the sweetest things have a bitter edge.

Sounds nice.  For every native monarchy there is an outsider bar.

A Culinary Adventure- Basic Lessons.

The Sour Apple Bar is depressingly low on supplies for making tasty food for all of you working types out there! Want to help out? I'm trying out new recipes and am going to hold a crab dinner! So I'll need to the following items;

x2 Crabs, which can be found anywhere on the beach with a little effort. Watch out, they pinch!

x2 Driftwood, which I will be using to make a fire. Can't cook food without a source of heat, darlings! Pieces of driftwood can be found along the beach, where the crabs also are.

x1 Handful of tasty berries, for a sweet sauce that is more than delectable! You'll find different bushes growing around town. Unless you've had some experience with natives, you won't be able to recognize a poison berry from a tasty berry, so watch out!

x4 Bananas, which will be used to make juice to wash it all down with. The trees can be found growing all over the place!

Bring it all back to Honey de Lune of the Sour Apple(one west of the Trader's hut) to receive a reward. Thank you all, and happy scavenging!

I am currently looking for a wholesaler of Yeastweed, in or around York! I may also be willing to travel to, say, Durham if you're interested in selling a large stock. I've been so frightfully busy with brewing that I haven't noticed that my current stock is quickly dwindling!

Nice place you have here. I didn't realise that it was a joint venture when I stopped by, my apologies.

I love that picture of what York is today.

I concur. The picture is quite info-taining.

We anticipate your arrival! Excluding an apparent religious turf-war, it has been very lazy and cozy in the bar. I hope you like banana beer, as I've been making a ton of it!

Last Laugh has ran out of apples. He cackles maniacally, as he rushes for the door. Than before he leaves he shouts, "How do you like them apples!?!?" (2011-05-17 23:29)

Wherever you are, Last Laugh, I do hope you avoid the talking trees...they don't appreciate having their apples stolen.  Wink

Would any of the fine patrons of the Sour Apple happen to have the logs from the past few days?
