Bonjour m'sieus et madames, bienvenue a mon parlour. Je m'appelle Jeanette Prosper, et je suis heureux a vous presente zee

Grand Opening of La Belle Dame Saloon!

Located en la ville au Raktam 2 East of zee Royal Court Hut, La Belle Dame eez a two-room taverne, Shartak's newest taverne, zee only taverne en Raktam currently, and zee premiere taverne which caters to zee Christian Values!

Unlike all zee ot'er tavernes en l'isle, La Belle Dame eez donation-only, offering plusieures de flavoures du jus et du vin. We are part of zee Misfit Family Franchise, alors, we hold zis to be true, zat every personne deserves a drink. Les Natives et les Outsiders are all welcome 'ere.

Zats right. Donation-only. Pay whatever prix you wish for a drink, La Belle Dame believes en zee Sanctity of le Christ, who teaches zat Charity eez a virtue zat must be practiced.

While you are 'ere, we encourager you to relax by zee fire and 'ave discussions on politics, religion, whatever topique you like (oui...even le Sexe). Zat eez our only reward for zee service, mais oui! Also we 'ave a private room available for les personnes who desire more...intimate surroundings for...whatever. Zee compartment eez a rental, alors we charge 2gc per visite.

We are currently looking for un personne to scavenge supplies, et des personnes to 'elp keep zee peace. Moi, I don't 'ave beaucoup de gold, mais, wages for both positions are 5gc/week. Pleez apply en personne.

Doors open en one week. J'espere au see you 'ere!

And now a word from our sponsor

OOC:
Aside from the free drinks, why come to La Belle Dame? Two reasons.

1) La Belle Dame is sort of an experiment I'm running to see if we can have a relaxed environment to talk about stuff in-game both OOC and IC without insisting on having to shift characters and whatnot. In other words, to bring the forum closer to the game. So feel free to talk about politics in Wiksik if that floats your boat, but I don't mind hearing your thoughts about a war in Libya either, or existentialist philosophy. I think it'd be an interesting change of pace for everybody.

2) More importantly though, La Belle Dame runs an under-the-table business selling fungi juice--that's where the money is. I aim to monopolize the sale of fungi juice in Raktam, so PKers can't run to the traders hut to refuel. Prices vary depending on supply, but the set price is 5gc each, maximum 2 per customer per visit. It's stiff, but it also lessens the chance of someone turning around and killing everybody in the Royal Court Hut only two doors away. Speaking of which, all members of the Royal Court and The Misfits get a 50% discount. Be warned though--I'll check your profile to see how many Raktamis you've recently killed before I show my wares.

Hope this adds an interesting dimension to the game!

A few questions. Is there any security in place beyond yourself? Are you perhaps looking for anyone to run beer/wine/rum/fungi related products for the Saloon? Are outsiders with previous native kills allowed in the bar if they don't do anything in there?

Non, zee security, eet eez tres lacking at zee moment, malheureusement.

Oui, personnes who want to bring zee ardent spirits and zee fungi to moi would be bien.

Oui, we turn away no personne, and zee native kills only matter if dey 'appened een zee past month or so.

I eem not tres riche (and probablement won't ever be) but per'aps we can come to un arrangemente.

If security is what you lack, then I would be willing to aid in providing that service, at no charge of course. It would be an excellent part of my currently growing biography.

To think I was willing to put my serial killer days behind me for this place. Oh well. A chronicle of Raktam's Saloon massacre is sufficient.

Eef you weesh to be trusted, you will 'ave to earn zat right. Ma famille was murdered by zee same anarchistes you followed--per'aps even by you, m'sieu. You cannot offer to 'elp, and at zee premiere rejection go back to zee sang-froid life of zee past. Zat is true of both respecte of zee commun'ty, as well as zee love of un bonne femme.

*Jeanette blushes*

uh...Not zat I wood know of such amours, mais non.

Defend zee Belle Dame from afar, revenger zee loss of mes amis, weethout be-ing asked or even welcomed, and een time you will 'ave earned your bienvenue propre. Eet eez la vie de la chretiene, and eet applies even to zee Native peigin.

Well, she's supposed to be Native, but I got such a kick out of that I used your pic. Meet the new Jeanette.

She thinks she's a white woman anyway, so whatever.

The Prisoner will have to pay a visit one of these days. He likes scary women and things that resemble scary women. Sounds like an interesting concept, hope it survives local politics.

With all due respect Ms. Prosper, I don't jump through hoops for anybody. I'll at least refrain from attacking unprovoked people in your saloon. Good luck with the whole saloon business though.

*You see a parrot fly through your window to land on the bar in front of you. Tied to his leg is a note which says:*

Congratulations on the opening of your Saloon Mademoiselle Prosper. If at any time you may be wanting anything like yeastweed, just send Ernie here back letting me know. Ernie is a good bird except he has a habit of drinking others drinks when they are not looking so you may want to watch him. He gets a little uppity when he drinks to much and thinks he owns the place.  But back to business, I usually have a couple of my traders running around the island at any given time so they can stop by your fine establishment when they are in your area.

Sincerely

Katie Calhoun
