I maybe not be on any forum tomorrow, because it's Black Friday. And this year I'm doing the shop for my family. It is going to be really bad. Some of the stuff you can't get online.  |

Meh. Black Friday is awful. People kill themselves by shopping at the earliest of abnormal hours. Absolutely appalling.

I have to work at 4:45 am on black friday, which is fine since I'm not really buying any gifts this year, and the one's I am buying wont be one sale.
Black Friday isn't racist, and it's not a new day. The day after thanksgiving has always been a very big shopping day, and is the day that many businesses get out of the red fiscally and into the black for the fiscal year.

Black Friday pisses me off. It just exposes the greed that is inherent in most people, and that isn't really a quality that needs a whole day to itself. Lots of traffic, people being stupid, trying to get a 'deal'. It's just a way to drag a person into the store. Even if they don't have the items a person wants, it's likely they'll impulsively buy something anyways.

I went with a buddy to get a few video game controllers, then wandered around in disappointment as clothing store after clothing store told us that they did not carry top hats.
But I got a nice shirt out of it, so it's all good.

I saw some top hats at the wedding store and 2 at an antique store but I don't think their sales really happy around this time of the year.  |

From a retailer's point of view, black friday could be essential to the success of a business. Also, black friday determines for many businesses how many seasonal employees will be brought on as permanent employees or layed off after the holidays.
Shopping simulates the economy, which in turns brings in more jobs, which gives people money to shop. The financial circle of life.
