Opening of the tavern We are opening this Friday (October 29th, outsider calendar) in Raktam. 4 steps South from the trader hut, just a few South East from the pool of life. On the 29th day shaman Betrayal will summon the witch rock from the underground. The tavern will start running moment it emerges from the bowels of the Earth. Anyone who is willing to witness this spectacular event should come to the tavern until this Friday. It will happen any moment that day. From then on up until the 31st of October 23:59 GMT (goblin mean time or magic server time), everybody that visits the tavern for the first time will get one free drink of their choice. I am doing all within my power not to run out of a specific drink and I apologise if that actually happens. In that case the tavern keeper will pick another flavour for you. Check our menu. The orwhan spirit dancers Caranae and Nokomis will visit the tavern at some point, most likely on the weekend of 30th or 31st. All are welcome to attend.

Regarding Oktoberfest While I would gladly open the tavern some time after this festival is over or way before it, it is just too long to wait for them outsiders to finish their long long wine rituals. And too hard to open the tavern way before that. So it has happened that both opening ceremonies would be held at the same day. However, worry not! The scrolls from the Stone Witch will be made public so even if you are not present during the emergence of the rock, you will have the most picturesque account of the event at your hands. You will also have almost 3 days to claim your free drink and there is also a possibility of making another such period after the Oktoberfest is over. Besides, the latter will last for almost 3 weeks. We encourage you to travel to that fine outsider event which the tavern is also wholeheartedly supporting. If not in drinks (I hope we will run out here in Raktam), then most certainly in spirit.

Scrolls of opening
Caranae says “I am sad to announce that Brother Betrayal will not be able to perform this evenings ritual. I hope that I do honor to him as I perform in his stead.” Caranae pulls off her tiger pelt cloak and puts it in the corner of the bar, she motions for everyone to clear the center of the room. Nokomis pulls her drums out and sits down, readying herself.
Caranae seats herself on the floor near the west side of the bar. She closes her eyes and appears still for a few moments. Caranae 's eyes flutter and a palpable energy can be felt rising around the floor and the walls of the bar. Eyes opening, the silver glow emits its own light as she looks around. Caranae slowly gets to her feet and makes her way to the edge of the abyss. She kneels and puts her hands to the ground. Caranae says “Spirits of earth and mud, spirits of ancestors past, hear now your child calling.” Caranae smiles as a small black circle forms on the ground underneath her. Symbols that seem almost alive flowing beneath her folded legs. Nokomis begins a light cadence, almost inaudible. Caranae moves to the north end of the bar. She stands still looking down into the pit. Nokomis allows the beat to become more substantial, a low rumble that can be felt in the pit of the stomach. Caranae slaps her foot to the ground, a loud clatter coming from her seashell anklets echos and bounces off the walls. Caranae watches symbols form before she heads to the east, moving in a liquid way across the ground, slides her foot and sways her hips to the soft drums. Nokomis maintains the slow rumble and it seems to soak into the earth below her, spreading its vibration as she hits the center of her drums. Caranae slaps her foot down at the eastern side, the clatter sounding once more. The line continues to form on the ground as she moves south. Caranae slaps her foot again in the south. The clattering almost ear shattering for a moment before she continues towards the west. Nokomis notices the symbols around the center of the room begin to glow white hot. Fluctuating very quickly, she takes note and increases her tempo. Caranae slaps her foot down on the western side and the symbols jump into the air. She twists her body through them and turns as the symbols flow around her. Caranae winds the glowing matter around her arms as the symbols become a long, thin ribbon. The ribbon trails behind her. Nokomis feels the vibration on the bottoms of her feet, she begins to move her heals in response. Caranae begins low turning dance, slamming her feet to the ground as she makes her way to the north. Caranae continues the primitive movements as she works her way through the northern symbols, those too becoming a part of the silver ribbon. Nokomis feels the ground begin to shake as she a primal sound spreads through the bar with her drumming. Nokomis smiles as all the earth seems to come alive. She watches the symbols flash chaotically at the remaining two points in the room. Caranae moves to the east, dragging the symbols, and continues to the south. She twists and turns, slams her feet and drags the ribbon as she completes the circle again. Caranae begins a second lap of the abyss, this time slithering. Her body rolling and spinning fluidly as the ribbon becomes thicker. Nokomis stops drumming suddenly, realizing that the sound of the earth moving is drowning out any noise she may have been making. Nokomis closes her eyes and hears her drumming still bouncing off the walls in a low hum as the earth shakes more violently. Caranae shifts into a light and airy dance as she makes her third lap of the hole in the ground. Leaping into the air as she turns, she begins pulling the now rope-thick thread behind her. Nokomis stands and watches as her partner flies into the air near the south. She stands at the next point and waits. Caranae quickly finishes the circle. She notices Nokomis standing there, and smiles. She hands her a part of the rope. Caranae throws the other half of the silver rope into the hole. She grabs near the end her partner is holding and starts to pull. Nokomis pulls along with Caranae. She feels an obvious resistance that shouldn't be there. Sweat starts to drip from her forehead as she strains to get whatever is caught out of the hole. Caranae winces as the rope slides through her hands a few times. She tightens her grip and pulls harder. The ground shaking hard enough to throw her and Nokomis off their feet.
Nokomis feels the resistance lessen as something begins to appear from the abyss. Caranae falls back on her butt as the ground suddenly stops shaking and the rope goes slack. She looks up to see a giant stone in the center of the room. Nokomis drops the rope as her partner hits the ground, the silver receding into the remaining pit and disappearing. Caranae walks over to the stone and notices the features are rather human like. A woman, from what she can tell, she seems to stare back as if waiting for something. Caranae says “Thank you for answering my call. You honor us with your presence.” Nokomis walks to the stone witch at the center of the bar and bows low. "Welcome." Caranae turns towards the patrons already gathered. "May the drinks be blessed and may good fortune come to all that frequent the 'Stone Witch' bar."
Ahnaom stands in the corner, his arms crossed, watching as the stone rises from the womb of the Earth. Once the ritual is over, he slowly walks towards the center of the tavern. Ahnaom bows before the rock watching as the woman's face on it gradually fade away in the waves of echoes. He turns to the patrons "Our doors are now open." Ahnaom pulls out a big wooden crate from under the bar. "Place your orders. Witch pays for one of your drinks, as promised." He smiles. Ahnaom glances at the burning eyes of Otyr behind the steel shell. "You... drink?

Couriers needed The tavern is looking for a person to deliver one package to Derby and another one to Durham, along with short messages. You have to be reliable and fluent in outsider tongue. 40 gold coins will be awarded after the completion of both tasks or 20 for one of the towns. The gold has to be claimed back in the tavern. Ask Ahnaom in the Stone Witch if you are interested. PMs not accepted.

You paid for the disrespect with your skull. Now you are welcome in the tavern again, provided you refrain from the bloodshed inside. I can't speak for the Court though and we offer no protection from the Royal Guard.
It so happens that you can get very cheap drinks or even free ones if you tell a good story to the people at the tavern. Mayhap your talent could blossom in some other ways? It would be unwise to continue on this path you are now.

Mencken: He has an extremely unconvincing look of sympathy on his face. His eyes glint with excitement. How unfortunate! And yet I can't help but observe that the number of tyrannicides in Raktam seems to be growing. That is, your royalty is dying specifically because they are royalty, not because they just happen to be the most famous person in town (I'm not sure if Baraka would qualify then).
First you had that crazy fellow who thinks he's from the moon, then that dashing, well-spoken cannibal showed up, and now this! Well, I guess you'll just have to grin and bear it, cause I'd predict this sort of unruly behaviour will keep happening.
Just my two cents.
Oh--and the Shartak Organized Anarchists Posse claims responsibility for this latest attack.

Your little tavern matters not to me. The Royal Court and The Royal Guard are my enemies. If you're patrons wish for a story, then more of Raktam's royalty, and their followers, will bleed beneath my feet, and the tale will be told.

OOC: I'm working two jobs right now, so I'm not on 24-7. Sorry. Marcy: Apparently I didn't wait long enough, you didn't even have time to heal yourself before I finished you off. Kill Raktamies somewhere else. We don't have the patience for some Eoo making a mess of our floor.

Why nature allows it to touch the ground I'll never know, but The Court and The Guard will die wherever I find them, even your bar if I find them there. Healing is for the weak, I revel in pain and anguish. I prefer you stay out of my way. If you defend the stink of the monarchy, even under your own rules, you will meet the same fate as them. Seeing as how I am welcome for a drink, I'm sure I will stop by when the story is finally complete. - The Narrator
