Greetings one and all. By clicking on this thread means you’re curious to know what this loon is ranting about and possibly what’s going on here.
For a formal introduction, I am the shaman Running Raptor. I have been about the island for quite some time, and you may have heard the shouting and wailing from Chikram as the spirit from Neil was purged. It was the harbinger of a tale that was to come. This is that tale. The tale of the Bone God.
So then. What is the bone god?
The Bone God is a deity of the Ancients, favouring neither the ills nor goodwill’s that work upon this island. A balance must always be struck, between good and evil, the living and the dead, and innumerable other things. In the time before written history, his hand helped retain stability on Shartak, amongst them plucking away the Champion of the Toad God, Knygathin Zhaum, and banishing away his cannibalistic followers to an island of their own at the behest of the old Kingdom, for the island was not ready. Or so legend tells us.
Does this god have a name? All to be revealed in time. What lore has been uncovered? The book on this topic shall be opened and read in due time.
What does the Bone God intend for me? What indeed? Where might any number of bones fit upon a skeleton? The Bone God sleeps. But he has started to awaken. His followers seek to remove his chains. The balance has been tipped, and the taint of our mutual end has begun to brew. We sacrifice the marked ones in the service of our island, our safety, and our God.
BUT WHERE DO I FIT IN? Where indeed? I ask you that question. So far I have collected two pieces of this ancient being and performed one ritual on the path to his revival. Do you have a piece the faithful are after? Are you one of the faithful or are you even one of the many demons like the one that once possessed Neil Tathers.
Then again you could always be one of the bystanders shaking their head at all this.
The current tale is unfolding and the wheel of fate is already turning. Two pieces have been collected and one ritual towards his revival has been done. What role do you play?

(IC)Erich Zann I find you're native cultures and myths to be quite fascinating. I have spent much time trying to understand and search for ancient, perhaps even forbidden texts. I believe that music is by nature a spiritual thing, perhaps if I learn certian songs I can discover more than even I would be willing to believe.
(IC)Little Bunny I'm not scared of anything mortal or god... or, maybe... I have other quests to find though. But, who knows, I'm not sure what those quests will be until I've found them.

So the arm you took from me has absolutely nothing to do with this so-called "Bone God?" If that's the case you obviously don't have your priorities straight.

Yet another peice has been gathered. It's ritual already passed through the echo's of time. OOC: Thank you Monaliza's player for being kind enough to share the event history. Would of been a rather short log otherwise. Running Raptor says “I do apologise, queen. ” Running Raptor says “But then again, you’re not my queen.” Running Raptor says “And I really require one of your bones.” Running Raptor charges at Monaliza with a wooden club Running Raptor attacks you with a wooden club for 3 damage. Running Raptor cuts off the right hand of Monaliza. Running Raptor says “Pass through the spring of life freely now” Running Raptor says “When you wake up you shall be purged, bleach-white perfection once more”
Back at the arc of Raktam.
You toss a handful of rune-marked sticks onto the floor. They land indicating Earth, Water, Fire and Water. Running Raptor begins to enter a trance holding a pile of bones that make up the right hand bone of Monaliza. Running Raptor begins to chant in the language of the ancients. Running Raptor continues to chant and pours the pile of bones made up of Monaliza right hand into the hole. Running Raptor abruptly stops chanting and looks down at the hole, feeling the very ground sending out a pulse as he does. You say “The deed is done. Nothing shall disturb what has been done here.” Running Raptor looks down at the rune sticks he cast earlier. You say “Tears may fall, but they are necessary. The fire and earth shall be your funeral pyre, honourable Queen, but your sacrifice shall not be in vain.” You push some soil into the hole. The only sign of the hole is a freshly disturbed patch of ground.

And I've just receive report from another champion. Khukri slithers into view with his blades flashing, halting before Baraka with an entranced, disciplined gaze bewitching his eyes. (2010-10-08 05:03) Khukri says “Raktam's righteous have yet to be cleaned to the extent that would remove the threat to us all. I am sorry. I need to scrape the filth from your very bones.” (2010-10-08 05:04) Khukri halts his attacks with his machetes, instead drawing out a hefty, rune-riddled club destined for the Raktami King's brow. "Be at peace," he murmurs, "For you will rise clean at Najdam's next nod." (2010-10-08 05:09) Khukri kills Baraka with a wooden club. (2010-10-08 05:09) Khukri stows away the measure of wood and draws out his tip-heavy blade, a clean slice beheading the still-teetering body without so much as a grunt of effort from its wielder. (2010-10-08 05:10) Khukri collects the head of Baraka. (2010-10-08 05:10) Khukri would then dart a grasp out to seize the headless monarch's right wrist, lopping through the shoulder's joint and then flipping about the still-bleeding limb to shear away the right hand. (2010-10-08 05:11) Khukri then says a silent prayer while the ritual ends, the ruined corpse upon the ground bringing a smile upon that once-blank face. "Sleep well. I will enjoy seeing you walk about, free of the taint." (2010-10-08 05:13) Khukri nods to A'din knowingly. "I take my flight, I understand why you follow. Fare thee well." (2010-10-08 05:13) Khukri dashes off with nary a sound along the mountain path. (2010-10-08 05:14)

Time for an update, not including meetings. After walking the distance from a gathering of followers: You toss a handful of rune-marked sticks onto the floor. They land indicating Earth, Earth, Earth and Earth. Running Raptor enters a trance and begins to chant the ancient language holding the left arm of Mortis Running Raptor continues to mutter the chant, the steamy heat of Shartak retreating to let the chilling nature of the moment take hold. Running Raptor allows the bones of Mortis tumble from his grasp and into the hole, the island ebbing as it devoured the offering. Running Raptor ceases to chant as a strong pulse emanates from the arc, shaking the earth with its rumbling omen. Running Raptor looks down at the rune sticks You say “All is aligning. The earth cries out in unison for change! It's heart ebbs for the first time in a thousand moons!” Running Raptor turns towards the breeze of the wind coming from the west before collapsing into a realm of ghoulish visions and serene nightmares
Across the island, another champion has completed his task, no matter how foggy the details. Mabiz walks into the room as he sways back in forth. "northa, uoyehavbene cohosenybehtdogfonobe. Illash eahvrouyeftlhdnawon." You attack Anthor with a cutlass for 3 damage. They die. Mabiz takes out his knife and plugges it into Anthor's left waist and begins to cut the hand free. Mabiz picks up the left hand, holds it in the air and closes his eyes. " Hoonbedog Ieaveeher uoyreftldanh. Snoouoyillw ebbonrergaina!"

Talk to the shaman who pulled you out of the spring if you’re missing anything, bone replacement doesn't fall under my job description.

After waking from his vision and rushing towards the town still missing it's first letter. Neil approached the strange shaman Running Raptor. Neil's face had the lines of someone distressed.
"This, I believe, is for you."
He tossed some bones on the ground in front of the shaman.
"And I'm done. I watched a friend die today, die not because of what I did, but what I had failed to do. I don't want to see your face again. I thank you for saving my soul, but this, this isn't what I am. I'm not a warmonger, I'm not one who goes kills his friends for no reason other than following the crazy rants of a shaman. I go to find the truth of things, I search for the hidden places, and I try to find my own inner peace."
Neil walked away, "Don't come looking for me Raptor, you won't find me. No one will, till I want to be found."
Saddened by this news, retreating to some near by ruins for the night You hear Cold Seether whisper “hey kid” (2010-11-09 07:21) Cold Seether says “Hello Raptor. I don't even need to ask you to behave yourself in this area. You'” (2010-11-09 07:23) Cold Seether says “invented the whole idea of "being have"” (2010-11-09 07:24)
Then finally at the Arc of Derby Running Raptor lights his pipe as he looks towards the coming storm. A rather dull expression he wears, the recent events taking their toll. Running Raptor worries a few moments on the wiles and wanderings of wayward souls, then returns to his duty. Running Raptor begins to chant in an ancient murmur, the sky just starting to drizzle its greeting to the earth. Running Raptor opens the bag of bones, baring them to the kiss of the cleansing rain when a clap of thunder halts the shaman's chanting. Running Raptor sways on unsteady feet as the arch clamors out with a pulse at every drop of rain, a ceaseless, rhythmless battering. Running Raptor is chilled by the vision of innumerable souls hammering at the walls of a prison, begging to be set free. Running Raptor would surface from his revelry, glancing to a now-silent arc. He recomposed himself and upturned the bag of bones into the hole. Running Raptor turns to regard the rune-sticks, sighing as he turns to face the pouring rain once more. You say “The earth hath consumed another soul. May the seething, boiling tide of wrath and understanding drench its cleansing essence onto this land, so that it may be made whole again.” You push some soil into the hole. The only sign of the hole is a freshly disturbed patch of ground.
And finally after leaving the scene feeling compelled to search the swamp once Searching the area, you find a heavy sword. Surely a gift from the bone god, for his followers work.

In Raktam, with anarchists, tavern-goers, and loyal subjects alike sharpening their blades on stones and bones alike, is suddenly beset by worn, tattered, ancient papers from the skies. Humans being ever the curious sort, one man casually picks up a shred of the litter borne from the sky, and reads a snippet from an ancient text, once whole, now torn asunder from a place beyond any man's reach.
Blessed be the isle of Shartak! The days have been both kind and ill to us in these last seasons, but such is the will of all that shall be balanced. Such is the will of ebb and flow we all live and breathe each day. Natives working hand in hand can overcome all, and despite a go҉r͘g͏e of distrust and malcontent, we are f̡įl͜l̸ed ͝w̕it͟h good in each of our ͢b̶o̵d͝ies. I believe, as a follower of Balance in All Things, that what we all have come to love is not c̙̣̩̬r͍u̳̩̗̤̺̪m̯̦̙͔̪̬̝b͙̹͔̘̥ͅḻ͕͔̥̹i̦̟̺n̩g all ̪̩̙͕̤around us, but is merely starting a path to settle in its proper place.
A time for charity and more is upon us, for only through good will towards our brother and sister natives find peace, for h̓͋̈́e͑͑̔̈̏l̉͢p̒, h͆͏́ę̽̐ͨ̌́l̶̓̄̽̿͟҉p͛͆̋ ̸̨̄̽m̢̓̿̿̄̓̕e̅̌͌ͦ͢҉ find the error in our ways so that we may proceed and better ourselves, we who walk beside t̡͢h͠e̸ ̛g̸r̨͜a̵̵v́ȩ̴̀s͘ ҉of ̵o̧͘u̧̧ŗ̴̶ ̴̸g̶o͏ḑ̨̡s̷͘.
