The Royal Court of Greater Raktam announces the First Annual Island-wide Shargle Festival known as
Shargletopia

Beginning on October 22nd and running through October 25th at The Winter Palace also known as Chikram, join us for Shargletopia.

During the five day Festival, food, music, arts, entertainment and the 'Closing Day Competition' will be taking place at one tile per day around the Winter Palace grounds.

Any performers/ caterers/ artisans are welcome to contact me for sub-contract work during the Festival.

Everybody is welcomed to attend.

The Queen Arrives

monaliza walks in, her billowing, cobalt clue skirt making it a grander-than -expected entrance. Behind her, attendants burdened with vast amounts of luggage and bags line the walls of the hut.
You say “lovely to see you all," after reaching the center of the room and turning back around to address the group at hand.”

monaliza looks slightly puzzled as she scans the scene.

You say “why are you all in my dressing quarters?”

monaliza smiles sheepishly. "I do not think Baraka would approve one bit.:
monaliza smiles again and motions that her first outfit be readied and waiting next to the bath.
monaliza walks over to the bathing area, water still spilling into the tub from the roof above.
monaliza turns back around and looks at: azuma, Anthor, jaqs, Betrayal, Hobo Vampire, Leaky Bock an outsider and one spirit. She points up and says, "I see you there," with a knowing squint
.
You say “you are all really just going to stand there?”

monaliza reaches into a side pocket on her skirt. She draws out a glowing, red oval with teardrop pointed ends. She tips it back it and forth between her hands then raises above her head.
monaliza CRACKS open the radiant orb and you are instantly surrounded by echoing glass clinkling, but not falling and milky blurred vision.

monaliza does nothing as you are swept away in the warm energy released. Toasted hazelnut and sourwood aromas overtake your attention and you are pulled further into your dreams.

monaliza gets everything done, cleaned, sorted and dressed comfortably before she sees a single person move a bit.

monaliza is sitting on a long, deep purple, afternoon couch. The intricate vine work on the wooden form reminds you of the kind of jewelry The Queen enjoys wearing.

You say “well now, as I said, this IS my personal dressing room. So if you would care to follow me, we can arrive at the commencement of the festival.”

You say “it is NE of here and will happen in roughly thirteen hours from now.”
You say “then each day, we will move one plot, in moon-wise- direction and ending in the NW.”
You say “thank you for coming here. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you at the event! Remember to bring your blades. On the final day there will be a GRAND competition.”

monaliza clasps her hand together and heads for the doorway.

Opening Ceremonies and Drinks

Eyes of a Hawk appears from the jungle, his face clearly full of joy at the sight of the fantastic creature infront of him "My god I love Shargles!"
Eyes of a Hawk says “My only regret is that I didnt have time to gather some eggs for your event. I did bury some in a hole one west from the north path on the mountain edge, or on the path sqaure itself. ”
Eyes of a Hawk turns to Anthor, undisputed King of Wiksik. "Anthor, my king, I fully intend to aid you in your bringing to justice of the Peninsula Federation leaders. However I can only join after certain....
Eyes of a Hawk says “...events of halloween of course. In the past I have not been an active member of any kingship related to Wiksik, however now you have my sword....although I do feel an affinity towards the Baron....”
Eyes of a Hawk says “...which may `hinder` the impact of my blade upon him in particular. Derby holds a special place in my heart, but not as special as Wiksik....but for now on with the celebrations of SHARGLETOPIA!!!”
Eyes of a Hawk brake dances to the tune of Run DMC.....then hurts his neck

Sasaraharla tosses a handful of rune-marked sticks onto the floor. They land indicating Air, Earth, Water and Air.

Hobo Vampire uses a healing herb on you and restores 8 health.
Hobo Vampire patches up four people and gives a whistle
Hobo Vampire says “I'm pretty good with animals and don't get attacked too often, and a good thing, too! These shargles are nippy”

Baraka strolls into the crowd of people and quickly reaches out for Monaliza. "Ah, my love! I had almost forgotten the party."
Baraka grabs Monaliza, pulls her close to him and gives her a long kiss.

A'din Dkari rises and turns to the Queen, "Lead on, my Queen."

AlexanderRM says “So, is this where Shargletopia is taking place? Glad I noticed the writing. The food area to the north- that means Shargle food, I presume?”
AlexanderRM says “The people seem surprizingly uninjured, and there is a noticeable lack of bodies, in any case.”
AlexanderRM says “Perhaps they are engaging the Elder Race in meditation and spiritual rituals.”
AlexanderRM says “I really must be prepared for Halloween, though. We've less than a week left, and I haven't really managed to get prepared much.”
AlexanderRM says “It only comes but once a year. I suppose I've fairly close to being prepared... I need to swap some healing herbs for darts, choose where I will be when the shadow begins, and get there. ”
AlexanderRM says “I should have enough time for this, but I may not be aware for the entire period, so if I stay here for this weekend... I could very well lose some time in having to move to my destination, or be ”
AlexanderRM says “short of a few poison darts. I shoud hate to spend so much XP while squandering my initial AP.”
AlexanderRM uses a healing herb on you and restores 5 health.

Betrayal staggers over, covered in feathers and claw marks. "I'm beginning to see the need for rotation."
Betrayal tosses a handful of rune-marked sticks onto the floor. They land indicating Air, Water, Water and Fire.

Hobo Vampire says “I am the resident healer, Alexander. I have brought plenty of herbs for everyone”
Hobo Vampire says “The shargles are quite nippy and grumpy, for some odd reason.”

Cobalt Manticore says “So, what is all this?”

monaliza smiles, "This is SHARGLETOPIA, the first ever festival to celebrate the mysterious and querky shargles.
You say “here, we will share some of our experiences and thrills having these unique creatures in our midst.”
You say “have you ever fought one?" Closes her eyes a bit and says louder, "HAVE YOU EVER FOUGHT A HUNDRED?"”
You say “from docile egg to raging man-eating carnavoire this is truly the most awe inspiring creature of Our lands.”
monaliza says very dramaticially waving her arms, "caverns underground filled with so many, it was life-threatening just to move... on the mountain paths, seemingly innocent in smaller flocks.
You say “share with us, with me. How these animals have taught you or made you laugh. Maybe something else, another way they have taught you about yourself.”
monaliza pulls out a small silver and tourquoise whistle and blows it, letting the chain hold the silent-beacon as she drop it and it swings around her neck.
You say “they have very good hearing, despite of there terrible vision.”

Celebrations of Sight and Sound

Eyes of a Hawk suddenly speaks from the back of the crowd moving to front as he does "Shargles, the most versitile animals on and off this island"
Eyes of a Hawk says “The only animal that has the ability to appear anywhere on any terrain on and off this island. ”
Eyes of a Hawk says “The only animal that can devour you no matter where you sleep, on or off this island. ”
Eyes of a Hawk says “They can be used as weapons or worshiped as pets, as was Alpha...”
Eyes of a Hawk raises a single fist into the air while looking towards the ground in honour of the fallen beast.
Eyes of a Hawk says “I dream of the day when the core of the mountain swarms with hundreds of ferocious, deadly and man-eating shargles. They should be feared, admired and adored in one single thought. ”
Eyes of a Hawk says “A truly individual beast. ”

AlexanderRM claps.
AlexanderRM says “Well, I've managed to free up quite a bit of inventory through healing. I'm almost veering towards too many herbs.”

jaqs says “I see a monkey.”

Leaky Bocks says “aaBsjDe” with a slight accent.
Leaky Bocks says “oh baOoother!” with a slight accent.
Leaky Bocks shuts up.
Leaky Bocks kills the shargle with a machete.

Hobo Vampire kills the monkey with a machete.

Caranae starts as she sees many familiar and unfamiliar faces. "Quite the crowd we have here."
Caranae seats herself on the ground and pulls her legs up to her chest. She rest her chin on her knees and watches everyone, an occational silver light flitting across her eyes.

Nokomis looks around "There are a few familiar ones though" and grins
Nokomis puts her pack down and sits next to Caranae
Nokomis says “Before we do dance today, we would like to know if there is someone in the crowd that would enjoy assisting us? *grins evilly*”

Caranae stands and looks around at those gathered. "Hmmmm I suppose I should chose someone then."
Caranae walks around and sniffs the air near many heads. She stops before Hobo Vampire and smirks. "You will do, my sweet smelling Eoo."

Nokomis settles herself on a nearby rock and pulls her drums out of her pack. She smiles at everyone.
Nokomis A tribute to the lovable predatory creatures that stalk the mountain tops and the high jungles.
Nokomis begins a low beat on the drums, occasionally tapping the side loudly to add a high pitch.

Caranae slides her tiger pelt cloak to the ground next to the drummer and moves her way to the center of the clearing.
Caranae begins lightly tapping her feet in a chaotic tempo, the seashell anklets clacking together wildly creating a clash with the drums.

Nokomis begins to almost drum roll her fingers on the sides between her heart thumping bangs on the drums.

Caranae slides her way over to Hobo Vampire and places a fingertip on their lips. She gets close and stares them in the eyes.
Caranae 's eyes flash silver and Hobo's eyes follow suit as a thin wisp of smoke forms between them.
Nokomis quickens the low beats. She begins slamming one foot to the dry ground adding to the rhythm.
Caranae pulls at the smoke between herself and Hobo and glides backwards with it as her hips begin to shake.
Caranae throws her arms in the air pulling the smoke tight around her as she begins to turn. The smoke becomes a silver thread as she spins faster and faster.
Caranae hunches forward as the thread wraps around her torso. The silver light follows the form of her body and disappears in her now crouched position.

Nokomis slams one last hard beat and begins a frenzied tap to the rims of the drums.

Caranae unfolds and thrust her arms before her, in her hands a silver and pulsing shargle egg rests.
Caranae turns a few more times as she pulls her arm back and throws the shargle egg to her partner.

Nokomis stops her drumming just long enough to catch the spirit egg. She places it in the middle of the larger drum and begins her heart pumping throbs again.
Nokomis begins a dance all her own, standing next to the drums and slapping the sides with one hand as she hits the center of the large drum with the other.

Caranae falls to the ground, her movements becoming predatory as she watches the egg that bounces on the drums and makes her way towards it.
Caranae slides her way across the clearing, occasionally allowing on foot to hammer a beat into the ground, the clacking fitting with the beat this time.

Nokomis turns as she claps her hands a few times and hits the drums, making the shargle egg jump wildly with every pulse.
Nokomis rolls the egg around her arms between hits the egg growing in brightness with every passing second.
Nokomis throws her head back and laughs as the shargle egg begins to crack and shake violently.

Caranae watches as the egg bursts apart, a shining silver shargle standing atop the drums in its place.
Caranae pounces at the shargle as the shargle leaps from the drums and towards the crouching dancer.

Nokomis seats herself as she begins a fast frantic clapping of the drums, a high pitched cacophony.

Caranae wrestles on the ground with the shargle for a moment. As she gains her feet she begins shaking her hips and marking steps around the steadily growing beast.

Nokomis whistles for a second and a wisp of smoke separates from the creature and comes towards her.
Nokomis keeps time with one hand as she grabs at the smoke with the other. In the blink of an eye she holds high a heavy sword.
Nokomis tosses the sword towards Caranae.

Caranae turns and catches the sword, the tip falling to the ground as she stands face to face with the shargle.
Caranae begins a death dance with the beast moving with it as she thrust the sword and dodges fangs and claws
Caranae winces as a claw scraps against her arm, blood welling up from the spot it struck. She swings wide with the heavy sword and chops the creature in half.

Nokomis slows the beat, the low pulse from the beginning returns.

Caranae snaps her fingers and the sword returns to smoke. The smoke of the now dead shargle and the sword mingle and glow.
Caranae falls to the ground as the smoke quickly takes on the likeness of a monstrous sized shargle, it maw wide as it bends to swallow the dancers.

Nokomis lets loose one last resonating blast as the jaws of the beast devour the two in the clearing. The smoke rising as the shargle loses its form.
Nokomis can be seen sipping on a gourd of berry juice as the smoke finally clears and the dancers are visible again. A satisfied smile on her lips.

Caranae says “Hey, why do you get the first drink? I even got injured by the dang spirit beast!”

Nokomis throws another gourd of juice at her partner and grins. "Afraid I am not sharing this time, rather tasty spirit and I got to it first."

Caranae sulks a little but accepts the other bottle. She grimaces as she takes a drink, "Two day old spirits isn't what I want after a good dance..."
Caranae blinks as she looks up from her drink. "Looks like I called the animals again...Look at all those little shargles."

Nokomis looks over at the many shargles that just showed up. "I told you you could dance well."

Caranae says “A pirate, a yorkie, an orwhan and a cannibal walk into a bar.”
Caranae says “The bartender asks "What can I get for you? Pick your poison".”

Caranae says “The pirate "I think I will have a fungal juice with a side of rum". The yorkie, "Berrytini please, light on the tini".”
Caranae says “The bartender turns to the Orwhan, "And what can I get for you today?" The Orwhan smiles at the pirate and the yorkie, "I think I will have a lead-bellied yappy dog with a spirit of berrywine.”
Caranae says “The bartender looks a bit distraught as his two other costumers fall over suddenly. He mutters, "I lose more costumers that way..." ”
Caranae says “The Orwhan smiles again and points to the cannibal by the door, "Don't worry. I brought a garbage disposal."”

Anthor says “For me, the Shargles stand for hope, peace, and the circle of life”

Caranae chuckles and pulls a tear from her eye, then she glances up at Anthor. "Terribly sorry, dear Eoo, I didn't realize you were speaking. Please continue."

Anthor says “No, that was a very funny joke. I nearly fell off my Shargle laughing!”

Caranae notices he has gone still and glances back to her partner. "So I hear Ahnaom is opening a bar soon...what kind of spirits do you think he will serve?" She grins wickedly and laughs.

Nokomis takes a drink for her gourd and just shakes her head at Caranae

Caranae looks back at Anthor and grins. "Why thank you, I am glad that both you and your shargle appreciated it."
Nokomis you don't know what it's like living with her.

Anthor thanks Caranae.

Nokomis picks up her pack and says "I am off to kill some elephants for the contest. Thanks for having me and I will see you all later at the Oktoberfest if you attend."

Anthor says “My first time through the caves, I found the Shargles to be most helpful. They are the closest animal here to the Ancients.”

Nokomis looks at Caranae "I will see you at the hut"
Nokomis says “I will have to make a trip into the caves. It sounds interesting.”
Nokomis turns and walks off into the jungles

Anthor says “It has been said that the Shargles are a representation of our Gods.”

monaliza smiles warmly.
monaliza watches her attendants taking close notes and making drawing representing the guests and their stories.
You say “and now if you will join me 3 west for the arts and crafts portion of the festival.”
You say “you need wood or pumpkins, just ask. Everybody that wishes to can carve a pumpkin, or make a creative sign in celebration of the immortal Shargle.”
monaliza starts to head west and notices a monkey in the grouping of shargles.
monaliza hands the money a mango, that it instantly takes and puts in his mouth like a beak.
monaliza giggles and makes her way to the Arts & Crafts Pavilion.

AlexanderRM says “It would make for a nice extension of the festival.”
AlexanderRM says “Say, does anyone know what became of the Shargles to the Northeast? I do hope they won't be dying THAT fast...”

You say “we are carving them in the likelyhood of a shargle. When you are done, hold it up and told how how you decided to decorate it.”

You swing the jolly jack o'lantern around.
monaliza holds up a neatly carved jolly jack o'lanters with a mango sculpted into a rat hanging out of it's beak. The shargle-face lantern has beetty, recessed eyes and a few feathers along the brow-ridge.
monaliza opens the lid and puts a few embers on the inside, closing it up and placeing it on the ground where it flickers and glows.
monaliza watches as the rat-shaped mango drips a bit of bright orange nectar onto the ground below. She likes that effect.
monaliza smiles.

Sasaraharla kills the monkey with a machete.

Carreau says “Well well well, what's all this about?”

Cobalt Manticore carves a pumpkin in the likeness of a massive Shark / Eagle swooping low over the Waters, tidal ways from it's thunderous passage giving Shartak and Skull Island a tide of friendly Outsiders.
Cobalt Manticore swings a jolly jack o'lantern around.
Cobalt Manticore carves another one showing the Shartak Chaos God Howarya holding in his mighty hands the Wildfire Machete and the Knife Of Seeding.
Cobalt Manticore swings a ghastly jack o'lantern around.

monaliza admires Cobalt Manticore 's work and thinks a machete might be too aggressive a blade choice for Baraka for carving a simple pumpkin.

Hobo Vampire brandishes a cheerful looking lantern that is carved to look like....a bottle of beer.

You see the unmistakable flicker of a fire and smell smoke from very nearby to the west.
You hear a cracking noise followed by a loud cheeping as a large egg you are carrying hatches. You drop the remains of the shell on the floor.

Eyes of a Hawk returns to the crowd after a brief absence.
Eyes of a Hawk says “Well, now that was unfortunate, would seems someone has a rather large chip on there shoulder. I have no doubt ill be gone again very soon. But never the less I look to enjoy what part I can.”

Pius uses a healing herb on you and restores 2 health.

Announcing the GRAND FINALE

monaliza claps her hands. "Alright! Now it is time for the main event."

You say “our final comencement ceremony will take place two north of here and the GRAND FINALE is....”
You say “the person who returns the most shargles to The Ancients will win.”
monaliza smiles and looks happy.
You say “and by 'return' I mean kill. So welcome to ShargleSlaughterTopia !!!”

You say “at the end of this day, the one who kills the most shargles will win a very unique and 'fitting' prize.”
