When you kill a pirate who has a parrot, the parrot flies away and you can't target it.

It costs 5AP to tame a parrot. Out of the one attempt I've made, I've had a 100% success rate. Attempting to tame another parrot does not cost AP. When others are on a square with you, they see "Nigel the Pirate with a parrot sat on their shoulder" in the list of characters. They cannot attack it.
