I have the books to started up a Battletech game, I'm a vet GM I could just edit out the useless elements of a battletech game to make it easier to play and less boring. One possiablilty is we could follow the life path system except we just count skills gained as free skill points to use for your class, so we don't have to write down a bunch of useless skills that you may not ever use. Also I will probably appoint an vice GM to run the game if I am not around. But, it is up to you.

P.S.: Error I know how to alter battletech so that its not boring.

My guess is that Battletech really just isn't my style. It's probably a perfectly fine game but... not a fan of mechs. Never really enjoyed Gundum Wing, or other shows with that premise. But trying to think back on when we did try to play that game... I don't think I got past character creation. So, I guess my viewpoint is not well founded. I'm going to ask some one I know has actually tried playing it what they think. They said, "best trait was character creation.... its worst trait was that the game was far too simple." Apparently they thought it was too simple, I even asked them to verify exactly what they thought was too simple and they said, "mechanics. anyone with a certain level in shooting things will always hit, regardless of cover." I'm not sure if that's true... but if it is sounds like the game is broken.

Sorry, guys for wait. Sadly, I going to have to back out of GM a battletech game. The basic source material need would take up to much room. So, I thought it would be easier to put up some links to site with that info, but, it appears that error is right battletech is dying. Most of the old source site are gone.

So how about somebody starting a D&D 3.5 game. I got enough ADV 2nd books, but, if we did that I would have to calculate THACo, and I hate doing that.

oldmeatwadjm,

spacebattles.com should have a battletech RPG-style thread game going on. At least they did the last time I looked. Pretty low-impact sort of stuff, IIRC.

I've been consider running an AD&D 1st edition game on the 'net again. Haven't done it since the AOL days...

If you do, I will playing a mountain dwarf "Axe for Hire" style. Grin

I will need a Battle Axe, 2 Hand Axes, a spear, a light crossbow, a two-handed Battle Axe.

Personally I think the dwarves have the best advantage. In ADV 2nd edition you get a +1 to the constitution max. role, which mean it is legal with dwarves to have a 19 constitution, I don't remember if that exists in 1st edition. Higher start HP.
