Added what should be the final rule, unless someone spots something I missed.

You can't kill the other competitors for 48hrs prior to the start of the contest, and for 24hrs after... then it's a free for all... in fact killing the other competitors during the contest, to slow them down, is encouraged. Tongue

Eyes of a Hawk is in.

However just for clarification:

# - The kills, does one HAVE to be in a hut and one HAVE to be outside in the village boundary, or can both kills be in the hut or within the boundary?
# - We all gather at the very top of the waterfall then when the time hits midnight we all leg it to the villages in any particular order?

Nice idea btw.

Added SLP, Eyes of a Hawk, and substituted FAD in.

Milkchew, one kill HAS to be inside a resource hut in the villages where it's required, but the other kill can be anywhere within the boundaries... inside or outside.

Are you saying they can come into The Hanged Misfit in Derby and kill someone? If so do note EVA and I will kill them. No violence in my bar.

An unfortunate side effect of head hunting contests is that innocents may be killed along the way. It is with great sadness that I apologize in advance for the loss of life.

Anyone coming into your bar and killing someone is hereby forewarned..

Disclaimer:- By entering into the DEATH AID 2010 competition, you hereby revoke any and all claims against Anthor and the Kingdom of Wiksik. We are not responsible for any injuries, death, or dismemberment during the competition. It is your responsibility to wear the appropriate protective gear, and carry a weapon of some sorts. All third party claims against the KOW or myself will be passed on to the Wiksik Decapitation Force for appropriate denial of claim through head severance. Please take part at your own risk.

That's a shame then. First you let your people xp farm my Nokomis over and over again in front of you in the med hut in Wiksik and now you see no wrong with letting your 'contest players' come into my bar and kill someone.

Hate to do this but please take Nokomis off the list to play. I will not belong to this type of contest.

Sadly, I will remove Nokomis off the list. Per our IRC discussion, I have responded to your other comments there.

When I first said I would be in the contest you had said we would kill anyone in resource huts which to me would let at least some get out of a way of a 'contest' that is suppose to be fun for a handful of players. Resource huts have been known to not be the safest anyway so I didn't see any harm since this is a game. But now you have changed the rules. I do wish you all the luck and have fun.

I am curious what the difference between normal game play and this contest is. A lot of people can go around and kill, and DO go around and kill, whenever they want. If you apply to this, will that mean you are not going to be hunted down for breaking the laws of towns and villages by killing in resource buildings? Will those running this contest take responsibility for the laws that will be broken?

I don't understand where the sport in it is, since it is so much like a normal day. I, personally, would have a set of volunteers and give those names out to the people in the contest. Have those run and hide and get hunted down. The person that gets the most kills by the end of the allotted time would be the winner....although I suppose that is much like a normal day for a merc....ahh nm. I am just curious if I join, will I be safe from the laws that will be enforced should I kill where the laws do not permit.

It's a hard contest because of the risk.  That's why there's a shiny, shiny prize at the end of it.  You kill people for sport.  For gain.

Quit tryin' ta' toss in happy feelings into this.  Do it, don't do it, or add to the difficulty.  Beyond that, I won't concern myself with you.

Such a shame you don't get it either.

Well Carnae, I'm sure I speak for the rest of the towns when I say, "No contest shall excuse breaking our laws."

I know I speak for Derby, and The Peninsula Federation, when I say "ANYONE who breaks our laws shall pay with their life."

I hope that answers your question Caranae.   Grin

Wait a minute... what makes a hut a resource hut?  I thought that meant I had to go into the Medical/Weapon/Trader Hut and kill someone, not just any hut.

Not that the Hanged Misfit is any hut, but it's not a resource hut from my understanding.

Katie Calhoun:Aside from that though, people are going to get killed in your bar with or without this contest, and this contest isn't saying "Go into the Hanged Misfit and kill someone".  A smart contestant isn't going to go into the bar to kill a Derbian, knowing that you and E.V.A. are hanging around.  But if a contestant does come in and kill someone, you have every right to kill that contestant, whether Anthor say's it's okay or not.  Maybe I'm missing something though.

Caranae: immunity from laws would not be a very fun contest, since everyone in this has roughly the same AP regen rate, same maxed out fighting skills, and maybe one or two have an edge with a heavy sword.  This contest requires more strategy than everyday random killing or hunting down opponents.  How often to you go to Rakmogak just to make a kill (assuming you're not a cannibal)?  That's what makes this difficult... traveling to all the towns, killing twice in each, and trying to get to the next without dying too much faster than anyone else.

Anthor:  If I kill another contestant in their hometown, does that count?
