Axillary sweat does not contribute significantly to either detoxification or dehydration.

When you sweat your body loses fluids so how can you say it does not dehydrate you much. Some people seem to sweat a lot more then others in their armpits. I mean a lot. Try having a fever of 105 and see how well hydrated you stay when your armpits have turned into a small stream. We are also not talking about armpits being one of the major ways that detox your body and where the most amount of dehydration occurs. You are taking this way out of context of having fun with 'what crazy thing do you know that will help a hangover'. There are so many and some so bad that they even have me stunned a bit just hearing them.

I hate to pick an argument (this is entirely untrue, by the way, I love a good argument), but there's simply no indication that this lemon slice business does anything at all beyond placebo. There's not a shred of evidence that I can find to support any other conclusion. Citations please! Smiley

I don't see where anyone said lemon slice actually worked for a hangover. I stated what my friends who were med students and others had said what they were told and done while at med school. It could be just a university thing...who knows but it sure is posted alot on the net. If you goggle it you will see that it is used for holistic purposes for the hangover and for sweating. Also the lemon is used to lighten darken armpits...at least that what it says on these holistic sites.

Myself...I use to use lemon juice to lighten my hair which any female knows this. It is also great to clean with ....put with honey when you have a sore throat ...stop bleeding and disinfects small cuts etc. etc. etc . Lemons are a great thing.

Sweating does help a little, but barely at all.  I think the lemon thing is bs.

Lemons, sounds all fun but the reality is.... IF you ARE drunk enough to need the lemon, you are NOT capable of doing it anyway. SO :PALM it.  I drank cold coffee, ate peaches and 2 Advil before bead for 2 vodka-drinking nights in a row. No pain, just cottage-cheese brain for 1/2 of the next day. (I can not sleep in ever, which I am sure would help.)

Party harty, rock and roll. Drink a keg, smoke a bowl. Beer is good and sex is mighty. Lets go out and palming PARTY!

I was just pointing out that there's a difference between apocrine sweat glands and eccrine sweat glands, was all.
