It's sad Bobby is the only old-fashioned Wiksik hunter. The island is already lost.

It's sad that someone should speak so ill of their ally's interests in such a manner.  We bow our heads at the disunion of the native people in this day and age.

What allies? What are you talking about?

The alliance between the Kingdom of Skulls and the Royal Court of Raktam has never been nullified.  It was just assumed to have transferred to the KOW when Anthor left the Skull Throne to rot.  However, the Kingdom of Skulls has continued to respect Raktam and the standing agreements.  The Kingdom of Skulls is not dead, and no changes have been made since the alliance was struck.  Just because we don't try to waggle such things in order to drag Raktam into a civil war doesn't mean we don't still think of it as a functioning alliance.

He's implying that since you are both natives, you should support each other.

As if we weren't different enough and killing those of our own kind.
Personally, I couldn't care less about that island. It's just that Wiksik seems to have lost all its spirit.

More like strangled, what with a rampant ego at a round table stagnating Wiksik's future.

Who from Kingdom of Skulls is still around? And they certainly aren't ruling Wiksik.
Also, last I heard Court was staying neutral.

King Kuru is away for no telling how long, due to some real life issues. With the king exiled, the Skull Throne essentially destroyed and the Kingdom of Wiksik reduced to a boy and his blob there's really nothing to rule or challenge at the moment. I have no desire to claim a throne, and will certainly not rule over a village that is content to simply stagnate in it's own filth. I am but a mere nomadic warlord with no army. Other than the war, Wiksik has been a barren wasteland since the day I first set foot on the mainland. Our initial attempt to breath some life into the place was met with drama and hostility. The Kingdom of Skulls was never about the throne for me, much less the old vendettas, it was about the territory and old-school native swagger. If the natives don't want that, than it's not going to happen, but I will strive to carry the embers until the territory is ready once again.

An alliance doesn't mean a crutch.  We have never called upon the Court to solve our internal affairs, nor do we have a need to tell the long-time friends of the KOS they're OBLIGATED to assist.  I'm not sure what you're trying to imply that we're implying.

Precisely. No alliances are at play here. Just one hungry cannibal and one Raktami villager who wonders what happened to Wiksik.

The play was postponed till after the battle, so come back then!  I have the perfect part of you, Bobby!

*Grins*

Why not just carry on with the play and use possession?  It's much more fun ^_^

Hmm... that would be fun!  Just promise everyone a heavy sword if they enter the tower, and turn them into actors!

Too bad Grant Beacher's Ghost doesn't have that skill yet

Also to clarify, whenever I take the "barren wasteland" tone towards Wiksik I don't want to belittle anyone that's just doing their thing; non-metagamers, non-combatants, farmers, musclemen, oil boys, retired old necromancers and even the dog-faced king. That war was a mess, but most of us still had our fun. I base my momentum and gauge my level of activity by combat and conflict. If I'm not fighting someone, I want to find someone to fight, and yeah I like to run my mouth on the forums too. That's just me and it's not for every player. Wiksik's just not currently combat-driven other than occasional police action. I would someday like to see the Kingdom of Skulls territory become a strong warrior hub, backed by a pro-native force that thrives on whackin' Tangos and taking heads. We're not ready for that yet, as I've learned, so I'm content with playing the martyr with a handful of anyone who will have me.

Raktam, you have my sword should you ever require it. I ask for nothing in return. It is a shame that my brothers of the skull spill your blood as we speak, but our exile was long and the anger runs deep. They say blood is thicker than water. Perhaps old wounds will heal in time; just as the fog was lifted from between us, so shall the anger and the hatred be lifted one day.

As for the Peninsular Federation, I will never surrender Wicksick Island to the soft and greedy hands of the pink and stickies. Go forth and die on that little hill, your raiding parties will know me well. Present your Tragedy upon the blackened bones of our forefathers. Deus ex Machina carries a sword, eats flesh and does not relent, and I look damn good in pantaloons.

Edit: Speaking of pink and stickies:

Bobby the Hatchet pauses for a moment, staring out over the vast emptiness of the ocean as the water turns to red. "Why yes...yes you are."
You attack AmIDead with a dagger for 2 damage. They die. You gain 45 XP.
Underworld log successful .
You collect the head of AmIDead and clean it up before adding the skull to what you're carrying.
You carve pieces off AmIDead and give thanks to the ancestors as you eat.
You feel slightly invigorated from the slabs of flesh you consume. You gain 3 XP.

Edit: Child's play, my boy.

You attack Swarm with a heavy sword for 5 damage. They die. You gain 43 XP.
Underworld log successful .
You collect the head of Swarm and clean it up before adding the skull to what you're carrying.

Thank you sir, may I have another?

Who from Kingdom of Skulls is still around? And they certainly aren't ruling Wiksik.
Also, last I heard Court was staying neutral.

I personally, as one Raktami, find it hard for us to call neutrality when the so called "king" of wiksik has still very recently insulted our King and Queen as well as our claim to sovereignty.  Not to mention his "unified island" ideals...  Granted I dont speak for the Raktami Throne, these are again, merely the thoughts of one warrior.

Perhaps all the headhunters left for Rakmogak and became cannibals? Just an odd thought.

Wait, which so-called "king" of wiksik was this?

And also, what are we referring to that the royal court is staying neutral with regards to? Is this the Midway Island conflict, or the conflict over the throne of Wiksik?

Anyway, I'd like to know what the stances of the RCGR and KoW are on the question of Midway/WickSick island. I was thinking the KoW might also exert a claim over the island, but it could easily be not. I imagine that neither is declaring was on the Peninsular Federation, but I'm thinking of the more subtle support/approval/disapproval/conflicting claims/whatever here.

BTW, if I recall correctly this sort of thing was the reason I tried to found a Midway Empire all those months ago. Come to think of it, it might be reasonable for the various Native powers to support a small, Native-influenced independent state on the island... though probably not with me in charge.

The king I referred to was Anthor.  The Royal Court mentioned is RCGR, and officially, no stance has been taken.

The Royal Court of Greater Raktam stayed neutral during the Wiksik War and I don't believe there has ever been a solid stance one way or another over Wicksick Island. The island falls under Kingdom of Skulls territory, according to old maps, therefore it is the sole responsibility of the warriors of the Kingdom of Skulls and any natives within the territory who wish to defend their sacred land. I respect the Royal Court's neutrality towards the Kingdom of Skulls. It would be hard for me to expect their aid when I myself remained neutral as my own Rakmogaki brothers attacked their village.

Since the end of the war, I very rarely step foot into Wiksik. I believe I'm still outlawed there, if not I would no doubt be hunted down on account of my exiled blood. I will continue to fight to defend the Kingdom of Skulls territory, and I welcome any who will join me. I no longer have any quarrel with Wiksik, although I will continue to kill outsiders within the territory on sight, save for those who keep to themselves within the Spirit Hut.

I will never surrender Wicksick Island. I've got an entire territory to prowl, but I will police it on occasion. I too would like to see a pro-native presence lay an active claim to it, but it is certainly not going to be me, at least not yet. I have trouble sitting still for very long and the tower eventually runs out of meat.
