I actually had an enjoyable fourth. Usually I'm at home being annoyed by the neighbors shooting fireworks until 4 am, because my family doesn't do anything but try to cook out and fail miserably.

This year I opted to go out with Solemn, it being the better decision. We went to his parent's lakehouse for the best cookout I've ever had; they did this mustard marinade chicken, which, as much as I hate mustard, is -really, really good.- Also had grilled zucchini and squash, that was prepared by me, the veggies taken from a really nice French lady who lives across from them. She and her husband are very successful gardeners. I could barely fit the zucchini on the kabobs!

After that, we shot fireworks, which lasted a good hour or so. Compiled with the neighbors, and me and Solemn had front row seats by the lake. Mosquitos were annoying, however. When they were finished, we packed up and headed to a friend's house, around 11:30 pm, to sit and play some games. I think we stayed up playing Borderlands until 4 am.

Best holiday -ever.- xD

In my case it's probably to late, I have been smoking since I was 17. Sad 4th started out terrible for meat, family sent meat to an AA meeting. But, the day got better later, after I hit the bar.  Grin
I hope you're doing alright I myself had a drinking problem. I wasn't able to overcome it until I addressed why I was drinking heavily. AA is a great place to get support I hope you keep going.

I control my drinking, by only drinking on special occasions (holidays, parties, etc.)

Then again, 3/5s of vodka only gives me a buzz, lol.

I drink wine by the bottle so I can't really judge. I used to drink 5ths of liquor so it's an improvement but still.

Wine is good, but I prefer a bottle of Grey Goose or 1800  Grin

That game seems to be a waste of time, in my opinion. It's just Gold version with better graphics. What's the point?

Here's a serious question has anyone here actually beaten the game i.e. caught all the pokemon. I got close once in red, I just beat the end boss and wonder around until I get bored.

I've beat red, blue, yellow, gold and pearl, i.e. caught all the pokemon.

It's easy when you're friends have the other versions. Gotta have someone to trade with to capture all of them.

I think the main point is for people who didn't get the old versions. Like me. >_>
It also serves a practical purpose in allowing access to the other Pokemon types, like FR/LG did, but thanks to Pal Park that's mainly for people who didn't get the 3rd gen games. Still, between those two that's a pretty good reason for Nintendo to make it.

Still, it has a few cool new areas and I imagine it must be nice to take a trip down memory lane with better graphics and game mechanics, etc. And it has some practical purposes in terms of trading with other games and whatnot, though mainly that's the getting all the pokemon thing I was mentioning.

I've never gotten anywhere close, though I've sorta vaguely tried... except in the ranger games; I got all pokemon but Fearow (which requires beating the capture arena) and Snorlax (which requires getting all the Pokemon- including Fearow) in Ranger 1, and actually beat Ranger 2 with all pokemon and the capture arena beat, including all 6 special missions. Oh, and in XD I purified all the Shadow pokemon, but didn't get past round 1 of Orre Collossium.

In the rest of the games, the best I've generally gotten is seen all the pokemon in the regional dex (which I managed in FR and Emerald) and moderate numbers of pokemon caught. The pokedexes aren't the only thing, either... they now have battle tower/frontier, contests (or pokeathalon in HG/SS), underground in DPP and Crown in HG/SS. I managed to beat the contests in Emerald, get the Platinum flag in... I think it was Pearl, and get a Crown in SS, but that's all. It would be incredibly hard to complete the whole thing.

Wow. Did you actually catch most of them in-version or do trading from old versions? (also, did you not get any 3rd gen games or just not catch all the pokemon?)

And in Pearl, did you actually finish all the things (contests, underground, battle tower) or just catch all the pokemon (lol "just"... great accomplishments nontheless. Not trying to betlittle them, you're clearly much better and/or hard working at Pokemon than I am).

I've re-played the old versions on an emulator (caught all of'em again thx to the VBA Game Link upgrade.)
New areas is a good addition, but I'm holdin' out for the black and white versions (they're running out of colors to use in the names. Eventually, Pokemon Rainbow Edition, lol.)

I completed every tiny event in all of them. I had fun with the Missingno glitch in the old versions too Tongue
It took a lot to get all of'em. Trading with Coliseum and all that stuff.

In the old versions, most of the kids in my neighborhood had the games, so we all benefited from trading with each other Tongue

My brother has Diamond, and myself, Pearl, so naturally, we got everything  Grin
The contests proved somewhat difficult for me. It's not my shtick.
The battle tower wasn't much of a challenge once I leveled all my pokemon to 100, even for the lvl 100 challenge.

I even used Wi-Fi to trade with people who'd went to the tournaments, so I could get all the ribbons. That took some time......

It's not that I'm hard working or anything like that. I just can't fall asleep before 3AM, even with sleep aids  Cheesy
