The guys came running back carrying the dufflebags, Harvey wearing a helmet. They chucked them into the boot and piled into the back. Harvey screamed, "Floor it!" You could hear gunshots outside. Crash does, indeed, floor it, and the hovercraft shoots off down the street. "Where am I going? You're going to have to direct me." He checks his mirrors to see what's going on behind him. He sighs "This seems to be happening to me a lot lately."

"That's not a bad plan Hu, we could use the bounty to help cover our costs. Then we can go see this dame of yours and hit her up for some goods. If we still don't have enough than we'll just have to convince her to have a closing out sale. Let's go to the post office." Comparing the neighbourhood to your memory of it earlier, you begin wondering if sowing chaos might have actually improved property values. The post office was apparently boring enough to be spared entirely. No one was inside except two old coots carrying on sorting the mail as if the fabric of society wasn't being ripped to shreds outside. Crash does, indeed, floor it, and the hovercraft shoots off down the street. "Where am I going? You're going to have to direct me." Crash checks his mirrors to see what's going on behind him.
"This seems to be happening to me a lot lately." Everyone craned their necks retrospectively. The girl sitting shotgun pulled out its namesake. In the mirrors you saw security guards in pursuit. Once they succumbed to lactic acid, they waited for their own vehicle to swing around and pick them up. Harvey went on, "You didn't tell me they would have guns!" "Why wouldn't they?" "Harvey, from now on just expect everyone you meet to be strapping iron. Even little old ladies. Actually, especially little old ladies." "Stop talking back there. We need to shake these guys. Turn here."

"Alright Hu I got a plan, you were telling we earlier that you impersonated a cop back on Jericho, think you could do something similar. Wendell's body can't be turned in on this planet but that doesn't mean we can't get a bounty. You'll be a bounty hunter and I'm a criminal you have in custody and that container is my accomplice. I got a face that looks like potted meat they wont take much convincing, and if they decide to look me up I do have a record. You make up some story about how the police station is busy with the riot and post office is handling bounties for now. If they ask you why I'm not at the station it's because you're extraditing me. We get 100 credits and then we leave, it seems like a good plan to me but that could be the drugs and blood loss."

"Stop talking back there. We need to shake these guys. Turn here." Crash swings out, brakes a touch, matching the revs to where he judges second gear to be, and then accelerates through the corner. He puts the apex quite far back, so that not only is he traveling pretty straight and able to accelerate more as he exits the corner, but is also more in control should he have to avoid any other traffic.

"I'd prefer somethin' a little more concrete but I been on missions with less intel."
Lee gets up with some noticeable effort.
"Anythin' else we should be knowin' before we get goin'? If not then is there any place near here we might be able to pick up some specialist items? I know this is a place o' learnin' but there must still be some disreputable sorts about." The students conversed amongst each other. "Nothing of which we are presently aware of. If you'll excuse us, we must return to class. We will inform you of any further developments." "We've survived in this place by interring ourselves in work, so we haven't become cozy and familiar with this town. I apologise, but I'm not aware of anything too special here. All I am able to conceive would be some of the campus departments or the odd gun shop for townies." "We appreciate your understanding in this matter and hope for your success, however you pursue it." Then they left. Zeek puts his coat back on and drops the book on a nearby cart. "So, if we are indeed 'storming the castle', then i suppose it's time to gather everyone up and get ready for the job. Ms hannah, could you perhaps direct us to some vendor of nefarious paraphernalia that we might patronize? An infomerchant would be helpful as well i expect."

When I gloat it's usually about whom I've caught in the loo with a copy of Dog Fancy. I don't comprehend the part where they pay me and allow you to leave. Unless I misinterpreted Hannah, this is technically the police station as well and those two are being retained as officers for appearances sake, seniority, and minimum commitment to federal mandate." Crash swings out, brakes a touch, matching the revs to where he judges second gear to be, and then accelerates through the corner. He puts the apex quite far back, so that not only is he traveling pretty straight and able to accelerate more as he exits the corner, but is also more in control should he have to avoid any other traffic. The wave crackled back in, "How rude! They didn't have the decency to take my paperweight. I paid good money for that." "Couldn't even give us the courtesy of wounding someone. How are we supposed to collect compensation like this?" Cruising on, sirens filled your ears. Three campus patrolers weaved in behind you. They hailed you over their megaphone, "Attention fugitives, this is campus security. You may keep your spoils, but please return the doughnuts!" Everyone looked at Harvey who had a bitten one in his hot little hands, "What? I was hungry!" Zeek puts his coat back on and drops the book on a nearby cart. "So, if we are indeed 'storming the castle', then i suppose it's time to gather everyone up and get ready for the job. Ms hannah, could you perhaps direct us to some vendor of nefarious paraphernalia that we might patronize? An infomerchant would be helpful as well i expect." "A what now? I thunk we was goin' to the gun store." Foster rendered a less sesquipedalian statement, "People who sell dangerous things and answer questions for money." "Oh, Bob!" "Bob?" "Bawb," pipped the Mike Henryesque voice in the garage while you wondered why you didn't notice the last few minutes as if it were cut for a scene transition on a television show. "OK... I take it that you sell weapons, Bob?" "Yes I do."

They began firing. "I can't believe this," she sighed and rolled her eyes, "Pull it out!" Walrus pounded on the boot with his fist. A swiveling mount gun popped out. "Woah! Is that a machine gun in your trunk or are you trying to kill us? Wouldn't you rather discuss this like gentlemen over some doughnuts?" "Discuss this," Harvey opened fire. No one noticed the T intersection until it was less than 100 metres ahead.

"Good point, the problem remains though. What we need is a criminal that we can collect a bounty on to have a similar tattoo. Unless you can think something, try to turn in the bounty and then whatever happens lets get to that truck with the guns. You will need to be the one to try though I am wanted, and it would be a shame to survive a close brush with death only to be sent to the gallows later that day."

"Discuss this," Harvey opened fire.
No one noticed the T intersection until it was less than 100 metres ahead. To avoid further discussion, Crash makes an executive decision to turn in the direction that seems like it would take the chase away from, rather than back towards the security offices. "Hold tight!" Crash starts turning to the left, applies the brakes to destabilise the hovercraft, and slides around the left corner of the T-junction, accelerating as soon as he is clear of the corner.

You will need to be the one to try though I am wanted, and it would be a shame to survive a close brush with death only to be sent to the gallows later that day." Hu went in, "Bounty Hunter, Dog the." The scruffy postmaster behind a star looked up from the envelopes, "How may I help you, miss?" Dini dropped the blue container on the counter, "Are there any bounties on him available here?" Mailsheriff peaked inside and scanned the contents, "Where's the rest of him?" "Viscera setting into someone's shirt." "Didn't know any of these fellas were still alive." The other postmaster retrieved the bounty from the safe while Wendell was slipped into an envelope and sealed in with a lick. "Good to meet ya there Bob. Now what you got in stock? I don't spose there's much call for weapons here."
Lee doesn't hold out much hope of finding anything useful, but you never know your luck. "Bawb. I sell guns. I call this one Gertrude. If she was a woman, she'd be my wife. Do you like guns? This is Carrol. I think she likes you." "We are also in need of information regarding one mr 'tabby jones'." "Tabby likes Baileys. I like Baileys. Do you like Baileys?" "Hold tight!" Crash starts turning to the left, applies the brakes to destabilise the hovercraft, and slides around the left corner of the T-junction, accelerating as soon as he is clear of the corner. In the hairpin turn everyone fell port and the machine gun muzzle swiveled starboard, wounding a few streetlamps. One of the patrols crashed into the building at the end of the street, "Your ass is grass if I have to fill out paperwork for that!" Another security vehicle approached head on, playing chicken with you, "Surrender yourselves now, we have you surrounded." The cynical mocking inside the hovercraft almost seamed routine, "Blah blah, resistance is futile..." "...you're only making it worse..." "...your mother loves you..." "...we don't want to hurt you..."
