The Rakmogak Raiding Party '10

[FirstAmongstDaves]

FirstAmongstDaves stands on the bridge of the Hellborne Strumpet, the wind lifting his matted and foul hair majestically into the sky. His white silk blouse is tucked into his black leather breeches, except for the back of the shirt which seems to be a suspicious tan colour. A long, blood red hussars jacket with thick folded sleeves is buttoned to hide the other stains in the front. FirstAmongstDaves is looking for all the world like a fetid, decomposing fashion model, except that the long and notched cutlasses stapped to his person give away some other, more meaningful purpose in life.

"Avast! On behalf of the Pirate High Command, give me your ears or lose them! With the scum of the earth eating the the misgotten wretches of York, its time to a man we captured the cannibal island of Rakmogak and renamed it "Stinking Booty Island". The man to kill the most cannibals between now and the Ides of March will receive a prize the likes of which has never been seen! Mainly, because I nay seen it meself!"

FirstAmongstDaves swings a cutlass over his head in a fashion clearly designed to instil some sort of enthusiasm, the hilt nearly knocking off his plumed tricorn.

"Cross the seas, lads! Then cross the faces of your victims with your blades!"

The corsair jumps off the bridge into the water, and then wades ungracefully to the beach, swearing.

I am pleased to say the prize is now an iron harpoon. Many thanks to Simon for his help. It is to be held by Ibn al Xuffasch pending annoucement of the winner.

In order to allow more players to participate, the competition will start on 15 March with a finish on 30 March.

I'll ask Simon to announce the competition in a broadcast.

He staggers, crashes into the mast and topples over. After a while he rises up on unsteady feets

"Tis ain't no fun. Thinkin 'bout it, maybe I will go kill cannibals. Sign me up!"

He draws his cutlass and charges down the gangplank, only to come to a halt as he hits solid ground. He shouts at a nearby pirate

"Left or right?"

After getting directions, he sprints off towards new adventures

Also, would Ragmogaki natives be allowed to participate in killing their own? Would you perhaps risk having your prized harpoon stolen by a lowly cannibal? Is it acceptable that contenders scout for the enemy and reveal the locations of their competitors, possibly even kill their competitors in order to aid in their own victory?

Fiendish, but it never hurts to ask.

Nope, cannibals have a significant homeground advantage with respawning whihc would make it unfair for them to compete in the event.

1. No, but no cannibals may not compete.
2. No, any cannibal kills count.
3. Sure, why not.

Nigel'll have a crack, although he's woefully unprepared. But he does hate those, dirty, stinking cannibals.

EDIT: And he didn't have to go too far to find the first dirty, stinking cannibal. Although he did need a fair bit of luck to splice their mainbrace.
