After a live battle with Stiltskin... bullets won over heavy sword... this time (although I had just clubbed Giovanni to death):

You attack Giovanni Machetti with a wooden club for 3 damage. They die. You gain 40 XP.

Stiltskin fires at you with a rifle for 5 damage. You die.

Stiltskin pokes Gio's corpse with the rifle. "Gio, you better get Phil back here! And I better get some first aid kits and bullets."
Stiltskin lumps out from the Club, leaving a trail of blood behind him. "Goddamn heavy swords..."
