It would appear the latest update has been implemented. I've put five pieces of driftwood on the fire, and apparently:

The campfire is looking quite healthy but another piece of wood wouldn't hurt.

EDIT: Actually, another two pieces and:

You put a piece of driftwood on the fire and watch as it catches light. It doesn't look like the fire needs any more wood.

There is a blazing campfire here.

So now I'm sat by a blazing campfire, scratching my arse and wondering what happens next. Anyone think to bring some marshmallows?

EDIT THE SECOND: My curiosity got the better of me:

Quote
You pour the contents of a bottle of beer onto the fire. There's a loud hissing.

Significant disappointment - no burning huts casting a beautiful rosy glow into the night sky  Cry

Can you ignite people? Scientific research required please!  Grin

You have to click it a few times to get it right.
It says this when successful: "You strike the sharpening stone and ignite the tinder. You add a piece of driftwood to the flames to get the fire started."

That survival skill, which classes can get it?  All of them, or only a few?

You need exploration in order to get it.  I'm a soldier, and I got it, so Soldiers can get it.

If I am not mistaken, that is a universal skill branch, so yes, everyone can get them.

Captain Jacobi just made a fire. Guess I need to keep a firemaking kit on my person from now on (Tinder, Driftwood/Deadwood, Knife/Dagger, Sharpening Stone) so animals won't attack me and I can cauterize my wounds.
