Friday night, a snow storm hit the US that was pretty big-Some places got a foot or two-some got 3 or 4.Alot of people lost power and heat and some have already probably died.
im one of 183,000 houses without power in PA right now. Its 10degrees outside, almost 3 ft of snow, no power,no heat,no anything. I had to leave my house, taking all my pets in tiny carriers to a thankfully good friends house who still has power and heat. i couldnt take my frogs or turtles with because of tank issuses dut there gunna be ok, at most they will hibernate if it gets bad and then wake up in the fall(this happened last year)

My college has shut down for the first time in 10 years, trucks with loudspeakers were driving by saying" this is a state of emergency, power will be off for the next 48 plus hours, if you need assistance step outside and we will bring you to red cross. 3 red cross stations in my city set up now. We tried to stay at our house friday but we woke up in a 40 degree tundra. Thankfully again our roomates boyfriend was kind enough to let us sleep on his couches and bring our pets over. For thoes who know me, they know my girlfriend likes fuzzy animals alot.we have rats cats rabbits, lizards etc.

long story short-im cold, hungry, and tired

Can the buildings take the weight of the snow? If it's four feet deep some people might not be safe, with the weight on the roof. We have some fairly hardcore winds sometimes and even new builds can get torn open. If the snow came with wind then thier might at least be a few creaking beams.
Have you got enough food? I guess freezing stuff won't be a problem*, heh, but without power cooking's probably not going to be so easy.
What are the red cross doing to help?

That's assuming the short waves, the frontal boundaries and sufficient cold air are properly in place. I can't speak for your specific location but where I'm at it's either going to be a couple feet or an inch or two. In PA you have the cold air but it's doubtful that the short wave will be in place over you. You also lack any upper air support at 300mb so it may not be too bad. Alot can happen over the course a few hours though lets hope the jet streak doesn't move farther north for your sake.

Yeah.
What Jack said  .
Good to know you're okay though, even if it does take the body warmth of friends

What does PA stand for? I'm guessing WV is West Virginia?
For such a large country you use a lot of abbreviations

CLOTT, I am so sorry to hear that.  I am about 3-4 hours away if you need a place to stay, just head east.  We, however, are scheduled for a foot or more after midnight tonight and all day Wednesday.
Good luck and a kiss to your gf

where im at (Ohio) were getting 1ft tonight and right now looking out the window i see a few cars snowed in. i hope you will be alright bc,i know slightly what you're going through because a few years back we lost power for a couple days in winter and it was pure hell.

-a portable generator, radio, and if there are riots, barricades and weapons. those are the things you need in a snow-in and a zombie outbreak. 2 in 1!

Last part sounds like urban dead with snow zombies ~.~

Well, I hope you and your pets stay safe.  Sucks to be a reptile in a snow storm.

In masachusetts, nothing has happened yet, but there is supposed to be a big storm tomorrow.
