Without boring people with a Shartak history lesson, let's skip to the end I'm trying to revive the old Police-clan, Derby Privateers. Basically the aims of the clan are in roleplaying and independantly hunting down cannibals and other killers in and around the Derby area. I'm looking for fairly active players who're on at least once a day when they can be, and if there's enough of us, I'd like to branch out into other areas of activity, like trading and healing and so on. You can check out the totally brutal wiki if you like; http://wiki.shartak.com/index.php/1st_Derby_Privateers or you can ignore it entirely, as my name looks pretty lonely, being the only one in the members box So, is anybody interested in joining up or hearing more about the group?

Do you mean that you will kill all cannibals in sight? Some could be friendly.

If you want to be friendly, don't be a cannibal. Cold Seether doesn't kill every cannibal he encounters, but he's very picky. Certain cannibals, like snico, usually have a task they're on and checking their bib for recent local dining can often, but not always, tip you off to their intentions. Some cannibals have never killed soul, and these failed cannibals can normally be left to their own devices. However, Cold Seether has been wrong before and allowed cannibals to slip under the radar and later saw the horrific results of his moment of mercy. If in doubt, kill the people-eater. Remember: A native from Wiksik is a native from Wiksik. He might be a friendly trader, a shaman, a student in the ways of the world, or a cold-blooded killer. You never know for certain just taking a cursory glance. A cannibal, on the other hand, is a cannibal. They gain sustenance from eating you and the layers of fat they add from eating you makes them very difficult to kill. As long as Cold Seether is defending the people of Derby, he'll be protecting the townsfolk from the menace of those who seek the taste of long pig.

Are you accepting natives to your cause?
Aye There could be accidents like 'friendly fire' though. The kind of situation where someone outside of the group says 'Oh look, a native with 12 outsider kills. Let's get him!' - but that should be really rare. Clan membership and something like 'All player-kills were police work' should see that it only happens once a blue moon. And the outsider in question will be 'encouraged' to pay you some compensation back. Sounds like a plan. Let's just wait for Elegost to come back from the dead and I'll join you again, mon capitán!

I IFF every native, if I haven't already got them on contacts, but generally speaking, and I would say exceptions are rare, the flesh-eating non-zombie people are in town for a snack. It's kill or be eaten where they're concerned. Native traders, honorable braves, traveling shamen, all welcome. However, heh, if there's a cannibal out there interested in signing up with us, you're in. So long as you remember to eat the other guys. It's like Police Work and Recycling at the same time.

In a last ditch appeal before I consign this threat to the murky depths of oblivion, I'll ask... is there anyone out there who cares about the defense of thier settlement? In raiding times such as these, we must all ask ourselves, is our town safe? If you want to fight back against the cannibals and the thugs, as the Privateers have done in Derby and recently in Wiksik too, then answer this; why not join with us? For the defense of Derby and her allies.
2'nd Derby Privateers. Kick the asses you love to kick.

I think the main problem is that many of the new players don't visit the forums Rob.
Perhaps we write the message on huts around town?

I did before I left town. We're on invite only, so I'm not there for people to ask me in-game for an invite...

Rob, it would be an honor to fight at your side again, if you have room for an old mercenary.

Hell yeah we have room Thanks Endzone, invitation sent. Given how only myself out of the current membership is actually from Derby, I think we could be an island wide clan, more or less. Even in small numbers, we could try to get recruits from ever village. I'd still put Derby at a higher priority defense wise though, that's the character I RP, but it could be fun to run around all over the place
