Think about it. Running through the jungle chasing after a Pker, Fighting in York against the MG or the CP, actually doing the Derby Derby. This is one of my more thought out ideas (I actually spent a couple minutes thinking about it). Everything about the game will be the same, only it will be an MMORPG now. So I was thinking something along the lines of this: -Everything (as I said above) will stay the same, sort of. The towns will be the same, the people (mostly), the pking, except now, think WoS. The same idea, only shartak. It will take a really long time to get to places, but skills can help you, and more stuff like that. And, we could build our boats and huts now Towns would become zones to be controled by guilds (except the Shipwreck, which is a single zone). Animals would roam freely, and there would be more of them. Its just a thought that would bring the game to a whole new level. What are your ideas? I personally like Shartak as it is now, but making it like WoW would eliminate AP and stuff, so you could play for a long time without having to rest.

Piss off, you and your 15 bucks a month tithing. I won't spend 60 on a game only to spend more just to play it. A pox on WoS!

Whilst that is an amazing daydream I have to agree with Armadox here...
...mind you, I remeber playing Grand Theft Auto on the PS1 and going "Wow, wouldn't it be great if they could make it so when you got out of the car it was seen from a Tomb Raider sort of view, and then when you got into the car it was seen like playing a racing game? Man, that would be cool. Anyway..." and then there was the PS2...
So who knows what the future holds?

Admittedly it would be quite cool but I somehow doubt it will ever happen. I'm sure that WoW and other games like it were made by a team of programmers over many months and at great expense. Last time I checked Simon wasn't a team of programmers with plenty of money and time to spare.
Paying for it is also something I wouldn't want to do.

I would love it! The ability to collect torsos, dragging a body of an Colonial Policeman around the streets.......that would be the best. I would be able to get lost.....in a whole new way.

I would love it! and i would definately pay up to £1 a week or £3 a month.
It is already an MMORPG, anyway, fool. Its just not graphical.
WoW can shove it though, much as i love the games. that's extortion, who can pay that much? plus, it turns you into the worst kind of geek. a snob-geek. 'Ooooh i've got a level 40 gnome with a groupie' - 'Stuff you, i'm captain of a police force and i do it for free' (ok, ok, i'm a donator...)
I would love to see it made, but you would need some mega-cash and a few more programers. You could ask simon if he's interested, then he could send off an idea to a game maker like Epic Games or Lionhead explaining Shartak.
Principal characters like clan heads would have to be played by thier current players. and if somebody does a Rob Zombie or a Rincewind character model then i'm sure they can be sued by the real Zombie and Terry Pratchett. The new Privateer leader would have to be one of the billion characters in my imagination and my Shaman would also.
Chances may be, i'll be a rich author someday. On that day, i shall post here, informing you of my intent to partialy fund a Shartak game. Right after i tell Joss Whedon i want another series of Firefly *waves cash*

Seconded. Well, Its good to see I got some responses. Besides, the realm wouldn't be split up into several realms with different climates like WoW (I do play, and its like Snow, then Desert, then Jungle, then death). Shartak would be the main realm, with all the current abilities able to buy (We are gonna need some serious secrets though). The only zones would be towns as they are contested area's, and anyone can take them over. You can build 1 hut, cook food, be a spirit (the best part is all you have to do is wait for some mp like bar to refill), and do a plethera of other things. Its gonna be cool

How do you aim a rifle? WoW is third person, so does the screen change to an FPS/Gears of War sort of view?
Just a basic question, i dont think anybody's thought about it.

You can aim guns in third person. The easiest way would be to right click to bring the camera behing your shoulder looking down the gun, just like GTA:SA.

Well, the shooting thing could be a skill you get better at, so instead of aiming a bunch you just get better at shooting stuff.
That would mean we would have to make bullets either really cheap or really easy to find.
Same with darts.
Another thing, what about rare weapons. Sure we have the heavy sword, but whats a way to find rare weapons? How bout you can somehow upgrade your gun and like give it a name.
That might turn out bad though:
"Me and Bessy (man points to gun) had a crazy night last night. She's even crazier than me when it comes down to it."
