Pretty much that's it.  I'm not sure if it's implemented or not.

If 2 characters are from the same account then you can recognise them regardless of race and maybe put a little black indicator by them?  It's just something to stop you attacking yourself in the jungle.

Or you could just keep your characters the hell away from each other.

Shartak is a big island, it's not hard to do.

I've had two episodes over the years where my native murderer has come across my outsider murderer, each after standing up from their roaming shaman, come across one another and started swinging, only to be cursed. It's been a long time since those incidents happened, but I'd like to avoid a repeat should I ever start playing wandering killers again.

Cold Seether even said "Merry Christmas" to Alzado as he was heading back to Derby from Santa's Grotto.

Is it really hard to know where your alts are?

We already have a system in place for this anyways. It's called 'Using the Sense God Gave You'

The system is to add your own alts to your contact list... which I've made sure I've done with my characters.

How hard would it be to flag the nearby alts? Especially when they are all under the same account now.
Or they could be added to the contact list by default. A minor convenience.

Although you can do this with the contact list, its easy to loose a character you just started that doesn't have exploration or a GPS.  I have two I started after the reset, neither having exploration or a GPS, and one of them has been wandering the jungle for so long I can't remember where they are.

All of my characters are native so I've never had this problem.

But, yup, auto-recognition sounds good. Heck, could even take them off the list of people you can interact with if it's not too much trouble.

I agree with this, and the original suggestion.  Every character on a player's account should be linked as a contact on the other characters.

And when the game determines you're in the same square, it should indicate that to you.

And then apply a curse on all the characters of that player for not keeping their characters separate. WEG.

A warning for when you are near one of your characters or something along those lines might be a good idea. Or maybe something that automatically adds your characters to your contact list. Hrm....

It is indeed easy to keep your characters apart if you're smart enough, but even then it can happen to any of us.  More so for newer players.

You know, if we're going to have them even recognize each other...

Why not eliminate all interaction altogether? Prevent cross-attacking, or healing, or giving or whatever, in all instances. While shared interaction with a different character, or more indirect action such as burying and digging up items would still result in curses.
