Im a rocker. no doubt about it.

Full ACK Smiley Currently listening to Legion f The Damned - Malevolent Rapture. Interest goes from A (AC/DC) to Z (Zyklon), from Swing to Death Metal. Favourite styles are mostly (Bay Area) Thrash (Slayer, Testament, Death Angel, Exodus, Metallica, Kreator, The Haunted), Punk (rock) (Bad Religion, Green Day, Backyard Babies, Hellacopters, Turbonegro), Death (Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, Morbid Angel, Kataklysm) and Doom/Dark (Winter, Sentenced, Project Pitchfork, Solitude Aeturnus, Trouble, St. Vitus, Obsessed). Keeps always changing. My three most beloved records:

Metallica - ...and justice for all. Everything started with it and it will always be my personal fave.
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime. What a fantastic piece of music, lyrics and mood. Never reached by any other record except the upper one.
Third is vacant. Testament - The Gathering (kicked in the teeth...), Slayer - Reign in blood and Sentenced - Down

Operation Mindcrime was a rare example in the genre of something I consider beautiful.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah rocks! And if you are talking of X, california based punk rock outfit - love it, they got some pretty neat lyrics, like "adult books",  "nausea" or "Tommy hit and run Paulene". Also the vocals are astonishing, and for the punk this music is quite multi-layered.

Hurrah, you know, you know!

The Lyrics for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah make up for the short nasal-voiced guy.

Yes, that's the X I was talking about. It's almost impossible to do a search for them online, due to the one-letter "x" thing and their song names. For example, "Adult Books by X" will yield porn, not music. I don't know much about them thanks to this, and I can't find a CD anywhere.

Did you look around really carefully?

Basement Jaxx, Garbage (as close as I get to liking rock but the band is brilliant), The Cure.

Garbage is fantastic.

I just got back from seeing Gogol Bordello live. One of the best shows I've ever been to. They merge punk music with a lil ska and weird gypsy folk rhythms that are totally sick. Punk with a damned violin and accordion, wonderful.

The Cure is my favorite band. Though, I like they're older songs.

and I shook my head
So, your sins unto me as I fall down
never to return from this land
My wings are clipped, my voice stilled,
Goodbye.

Damn I envy you. If you like mixing weird folk with other genres, check Beirut and Hawk and the Hacksaw.

Oh yes, these both are definitely worth an ear or two. Very nice sounds. Will check Gogol Bordello a little deeper...

Beirut is pretty good. I haven't heard of Hawk and the Hacksaws, but I'll check 'em out.
