The York Triple Crown: Introduction 25 March 2009
York has been threatened with war by proxy on all sides. The anarchist Keiichi has threatened the state of York with a coup consisting of traitorous outsiders and the pernicious forces of the Pirate High Command, led by the infamous anti-York marauder FirstAmongstDaves. The false pagan goddess Blue Hummingbird has also encouraged her bloody and battered nation to take part in the invasion, offering paltry gifts to those who would risk neck and limb for the sake of wanton massacre.
This affront to civilisation cannot go unpunished, hence the Greater Shartak Unification Coalition and similar pro-York forces have formulated a fitting counter to the native-pirate threat, with an island-wide call to arms for those who wish to preserve the outsider culture...
York and its allies celebrate the Spring season by hosting a tri-athletic competition in response to the growing foreign threat, consisting of most quest points attained, most player kill points, and most NPC kill points. Although there are valuable prizes for all three criteria, only by winning all three can one become 2009's York Triple Crown Champion, with a grand prize of 3,000 gold coins and three heavy swords.
The tri-athletic competition runs for 45 days and begins at GMT midnight 1 April 2009 and finishes at GMT midnight 15 May 2009 (turning 16 May 2009). The event consists of three contests which last for 15 days each:
• Contest #1: Island Warzone Contest (player killing): 1 April-15 April • Contest #2: Unification Tribulations (questing): 16 April-30 April • Contest #3: The Grand Hunt (NPC killing): 1 May-15 May
On 16 May 2009, the winners of each contest will be announced and awarded their respective prizes, listed in the next column.
Prizes Contests are sequenced and run for 15 days each, and the winner of each respective contest will earn that contest's prize. To become the York Triple Crown Champion, you need to win all three separate contests throughout the entire event, and there is an increased prize if you do achieve this accomplishment.
• Island Warzone Champion: 2 heavy swords <-- WINNER: Saracen (103 points) • Unification Tribulations Champion: 1,000 gold <-- WINNER(S): Saracen (6), Twist (6) • Grand Hunt Champion: 500 gold, 1 heavy sword <--WINNER: Saracen • York Triple Crown Champion (winner of all three contests): 3000 gold, 3 heavy swords <-- WINNER: Saracen
Who can join and how to play Anyone can join, however only one character only per player is allowed to compete. Foul play is not permitted, and if evidence is brought to the attention of the contest organiser (me), you will face immediate disqualification.
Competitors may also register in advance, which will be listed in the post below. If you wish to remain anonymous, PM me.

Who can join and how to play:
Anyone, unless you or an alt (secret or public) are currently competing in the King of York's War. One character only is allowed to compete. Foul play is not permitted, and if evidence is brought to the attention of the contest organiser (me), you will face immediate disqualification. OOC:I think is kinda unfair. I mean, several people in this game do practice alt separation. One of our native alts may want to see York's demise, while one of our outsider alts may want to help York out with the quest part of this contest. In my case, Rachel Stone doesn't like Yorkers while Neil Tathers would gladly partake in the hunter (animal NPC's) part of this contest. Other than that, I like the idea of a three pronged contest of sorts. Hopefully it pans out for you.

You coul actually use one character to compete in both.
For example, my pirate would happily kill natives as well as Yorkers, and thus compete in both contests. Same goes for many natives.

Anyone can join now, even if you're competing in the King of York's War. If you wish to remain anonymous, PM me. I also refined some details concerning the rules and contest prizes.

Buttercup will join in the mindless slaughter of NPCs, and may possibly do the quest part as well.
