The King of York's War: What is it?Keiichi claims kingship over York and its dominions, and this war is designed to put him on the throne of York as well as destroy York's current extremist government. This is the latest claim in a long series of efforts to rule over York. The Pirate High Command is sympathetic to King Keiichi of York's claim, and urges all pirates, mercenaries, rogues and villains from outsider encampments, as well as our noble native and cannibal adversaries, to participate in the war to liberate York and install its new monarchy.
The contest begins at GMT midnight 1 April 2009 and finishes at GMT midnight 30 April 2009 (turning 1 May 2009).
Prizes: 1st place: 2000 gold coins and an iron harpoon, a unique and mighty weapon fished out of the bowels of the shipwreck.
2nd place: 1000 gold coins
3rd place: 500 gold coins
Prize money is collectible from Hercule le Tof in Derby. In the event of a draw, the prize money will be split for each place (ie if three people place third, they get 166 gold coins each).
Who can join and how to play:Anyone can join in, especially natives and pirates, but not Yorkers to prevent an unfair home spawning advantage.
You must state which character you will be using in the war to add to the list of dramatis personae. Only one character per player is allowed.
Do not cheat, and if foul play is identified with evidence, which includes, but is not limited to, alt scouting or killing your own alts for points, or killing other contestants with more than one of your alts within a general area, you will be disqualified without appeal.
To verify a kill and claim your points, post on this thread either a screenshot of the kill or a link to Underworld of the kill. Underworld logs are necessary to confirm kills in this contest.
There is no point limit; the winner of the contest is the contestant with the most points by 1 May 2009. The number of kills will not determine the winner - only the number of points.
For late entries, any previous kills made before the day of entering are not counted. Only kills made on or after the day of joining count towards the final total.
There is no restriction on killing other contestants (and so Magellan can kill pirates with impunity if he so wishes), although there are no points for deaths of other contestants.

The points are cumulative: kill a heavyweight (+4) who is a member of the Colonial Police (+1) and the State of York (+3) and receive 8 points. Points will be audited before prizes are awarded.
Yorkers can be killed anywhere on the island, but naturally most of them are based in York. Kills by wailing are permitted, but must be evidenced in the manner described above.
As an extra incentive to natives, former queen and now canonised oracle Blue Hummingbird in the Green Tower of the Sacred Space is giving out a bottle of fungi juice (while stocks last) to each native who vows to kill a Yorker in the name of the new Queen of Greater Raktam.
On 1 May Keiichi will be crowned King of York, and the winners will be formally announced.
