17 February, Year 4
As the new year strings the outsider settlers up for another hectic season of headhunting raids and cannibalism, the Greater Shartak Unification Coalition devises a sports competition to further weaken native influence across the island...Native Awareness Month: What is it?Native Awareness Month is a fiscal month-long holiday celebrated primarily in York from the 20th of January and the next 30 days, to commemorate the tireless struggles of York against foreign influence. Followers of this tradition celebrate by playing party games such as "Pin the Machete on the Dalpoki" and "Hunt the Scavenger", and for the not so faint-of-heart, veteran hunters engage in a month-long
slaughter purge of the indigenous people of Shartak island-wide. Many celebrators wear a blue ribbon with a woven-in insignia of a phoenix, to signify the undying resolution of the York people.
While primarily a York-based holiday, Native Awareness Month can be celebrated by just about anyone, anywhere, regardless of creed or caste. Even if you are a hardcore pro-native headhunter, you don't have to feel left out and are welcome to join in on the celebrations without compromising your rugged values. Let the purging commence.
Prizes: 1st place: Not one, not two, but
three (3) Heavy swords (a 750+ gold value) and 2,000 gold coins from the Greater Shartak Unification Coalition's coffers.
2nd place: Nothing!
Who can join and how to play:Anyone can join in, including natives and pirates! The only requirements to join this contest is to a desire to encourage awareness of natives on Shartak, and play fairly. Just state which character you will be using to join the contest with, and I'll add it to the roster. Only one character per player is allowed. Do not cheat, and if foul play is evidently pointed out, which includes, but not limited to alt scouting or killing your own alts for points, or killing other contestants with your alts within a general area, you will be disqualified without question.
To verify a kill, post either a screenshot of the kill or a link to Underworld of said kill. Underworld logs are necessary to confirm kills in this contest.
