Here is my shot in the dark. I need help. I am proposing a concept for a "safe space". Places that are protected by the ancestors or mention of a shaman's magical protection for that square. While inside, it will not allow for AP, HP or XP changes. (No killing, healing or regenerating action points while inside.) You see before you short, stone dwelling with an arched entryway... You are standing inside a very old, stone building with an arched doorway and smaller, round openings up above. Engraved on a stone tablet to the right side of a large vessel it reads, " This is sacred space. Protected by a shaman's powers, you are now in a static state of living, suspended in time." I placed 31 Sacred Spaces ideas:

If you don't regenerate AP's in them, what would be the purpose of these?

RP hubs. Although the lack of AP regeneration would eventually putter out any RP.

Ryanon seemed to be seizing from an anyeurysm, while Matey idly smoked a cigarette and watched on. Solemn, on the other hand, was wailing upon Ryanon's chest with a wooden club in what could be only described as "Daloki CPR". He would pause mid-swing to look to the Yorker. Solemn says “Err...This is EXACTLY what it looks like."

You step out of the sacred place to "active" play the game.
This idea might be a fancy role-play "rest area" or possible cinema for the Tom's.

Maybe only reduce the rate of ap gain? Halve it or something in such places?

That'd be a wonderful solution.

In regards to naughty PKers...
Any AP gain in one of these havens would be devastating to any town near one of these sanctuaries, and they would also mock the parties they fell.
Perhaps by killing any player character you waive your safety in one of these places for a set period of time, say 48 hours?

Killy is right in that these squares could be PK havens. Preventing AP gains inside would make them a lot less attractive to PKers and also force people inside to eventually go out into the rest of the island for brief sojourns.
Besides, it's not like talking and emoting use up that much AP anyways.

I prefer the idea of waiving safety if you have killed another player in the past 48 hours. Otherwise someone could use up all their ap and the tiles around said sanctuaries would be mass graveyards.

I would like it to be more of a hassle to use as a safe-haven for "evil-doers" (OMG I finally used evil-doers!)
So how about 1 AP per hour regenerating ? Is that annoying enough ?
The story is far from over...
This idea is based on the NEED and desire for the in-game story of Shartak to continue on. My motives are simply that, but we need to preserve the balance of the game. The perfect combo to allow the RP style of game play to continue without negatively or positively effecting game play.

I see what you are trying to do, but I don't think this would be a good way to do it. These could become easy PK havens, for the fact that the person can camp next to a safe place, and merely step one square into the safe area when needed.

one AP per day regeneration ? No AP for actions inside and or most will have 100% failure rate.

I like this idea a lot, good job Cy.
I'm not sure what the best configuration would be to stop PKing, as that's a major part of this initiative... and my brainz are fried from the flu. But just wanted to say good job.
