I didn't see a poetry thread, so I created one. If there is one, please feel free to merge this. Here's my latest, I know it's late for Halloween, but it was written on Halloween... I'm posting just the link as the poem has blood, and mild satanic / black magic imagery... kind of dark, and not for everyone: http://shadowlight.wordpress.com/2008/11/02/silent-screams/

FirestormOne disguise, a night to remember, Feelings burst, like lighted tender, Hand in hand, through the dark, Unseen, except by a love spark. Panting, heat seeps through clothing, Heart to heart, I hear you moaning, Tender words, pained expression Elemental, esoteric dimensions. Fire burns from two ends, fast, Leaving devastation in its path, Tangled, sated, extricated, And at last, I have you, naked. http://shadowlight.wordpress.com/

The BeastWatching, out of the window, The Beast cannot bear to look, Upon his own, sad, reflection. He leaves his home, face covered, In a mask of a thousand sorrows. No one knows who he is, No one sees, what’s under that, Cracked and faded facade. His eyes, only his eyes, betray, The tortured soul inside. Fortune calls, knocking, Is anyone there? Silence, The Beast rocks back and forth, In his chair. Fortune leaves, And he is alone, once more. A single tear rolls down his, Cheek, stopping to pool on, His chin, before falling into, The infinite void. http://shadowlight.wordpress.com

Prolific today. :p Am I God?“Am I God? Or am I just a man?” God said to no one in particular. Before he could answer himself, An Angel called Mikael landed, Beside him and said the following: “Why do you question yourself, Dear Lord? Of course you are God!” God laughed, and placed a hand on Mikael’s shoulder. He then said: “If I did not question who I am, I would not be able to face my Believers. It is part of my job to Take away their need to question, And that’s why there is Faith.” http://shadowlight.wordpress.com

Refracting LightRefracting light disperses into opiate colored liquid, Down the rabbit hole we go, grabbing on to any, And all pertinent thoughts, as those diactic frenzies Bellow noise. To what end, these freon breathing, Sarcophigi remind us of what's to come in this Sacred mythic palatial terraformed light center. Divide such terror with arsenic, phosphorus and, A thimble full of grace, and behold, the lighted Carpet rang. Wise, beyond it's second wave of O. shadowlight.wordpress.com

A Fist Full of HairSeventeen dollars, and a fist full of hair, I cannot remember, what happened back there, When I woke up this morning, I’d put up a fight, The tv was broken, the bedroom a sight! I walked to the bathroom, found the body face down, Bent down to check, but no heart rate was found, Blood on the floor, seeped out from his head, A bullet had flown, and now he was dead. Forensic teams would cover the apartment, With powder and numbers, the next department, Homicide detectives to question my motive, Opportunity knocked and left me out voted. Panic and fear flooded from head to my heart, In a short time, my life would end before the start, I did not believe, that I’d done, such a terrible crime, But I could not remember after that last glass of wine. A crack, and a cry as the door was broken down, A SWAT team fired tear gas right into the lounge, “Get on the floor, with your hands on your head”, “Don’t make us shoot you, you’ll f-ing be dead.” As I hit the floor, I felt my legs kicked apart, My hands pulled behind and handcuffed real hard. A knee in my back, I almost couldn’t breathe, “Read him his rights”, said a detective called Steve. Dragged off to a precinct, with number sixteen, In the back of a cruiser, the policemen were mean. “We caught you, you bastard. You won’t get away! Payment of death, you deserve not one more day!” Shadowlight

AngelI’ll be your angel, walking through the dark, Holding your hand, as you find that missing spark, I’ll be your angel, when the skies are grey, Holding your hand, until the dawn of a new day. I’ll be your angel, when you’re feeling blue, Holding your hand, sending you love to help you renew. I’ll be your angel, collecting all your tears, Holding your hand, as we walk through the years. http://shadowlight.wordpress.com

Midnight
As the silver lights fade past and the candles are burning fast Do you dream
As the drugs are rushing through your veins, And the gun is polished, where it's lain Do you dream?
As you wait for the sun, Can you bare what you've done? Do you dream?
As the wings of darkness fly, Is it just another lullaby? Do you dream?

The flight was heavenly the sky my ocean As I soared beyond the clouds and golden voices called me home You asked "Do you believe in love?" and I shook my head So, your sins unto me as I fall down never to return from this land My wings are clipped, my voice stilled, Goodbye.

Passion
You may like ice cream, you may like pizza, you may even like tofu, But do you know of passion?
You can love a pet you can love your father You can love your partner But do you know passion?
Many things in life you cherish So many things you love Thousand of things you like But have you found your passion?

Mellow
I wish I could be mellow, like the gentle rays of sunshine on a sunday morning.
I wish I could be lively, like the bluejay just taking wing.
I wish I could impress others, like the many petals of a rose.
I wish I could stop feeling blue, nothing could ever be so true.
I wish I could be free, just as anyone should be.
But here I am, forgotten lore.
Wishing oh wishing, for something more.

FlowerAs a flower looks towards the sun, I look at you, my precious one, As raindrops run down flower’s petal, My tears run as if stung by nettle, As tender breeze wafts through the field, I touch your cheek, your pain is healed, As flower’s roots bring living waters, My hands meld clay, just like a Potter’s. As flowers close to sleep at night, I bless your heart and fill it with light. ShadowLight

I didn't write either of these, but I sure as heck liked them:
Roses are Red
Roses are red, Violets are blue, This line doesn't rhyme; Neither does this one.
Poem from Grim Fandango
It shone, pale as bone As I stood there alone And I thought to myself how the moon, That night, cast its light On my heart's true delight, And the reef where her body was strewn.
Maybe I'll put some more original content here sometime.

King Kong's Last Poem by John Grey
I had love to deal with as well as fighter planes. Not only my body in the clouds but my head as well. Pierced by cupid’s arrows, blasted by machine gun fire, it got so I didn’t know one from the other. So I toppled, I fell. The allure of woman, the inhumanity of man… hard as I hit, it was like the ground saved me.

A Message from GodSpinning the wheels of life again, Can’t figure out where or when, Crying out loud for God to send, A message, direction, please, amen. Why can’t you hear me when I shout? Are you really so shocked that I’m in doubt? Trying so hard to figure thinks out, I wish I knew my way, my route. Listen to me, my wayward son, I’m talking to you, why do you run? Stop for a moment, my will be done, These hard times, you shall overcome. The message to you is in the wind, A piece of paper, flits to a tree, pinned, The way of forking paths, entwined, Forward, you cannot change behind. What you tell me God, I ask once more, Why not clearer, which way’s the door? Can’t I come to you right now? I’ll soar, On wings made from some chemical ore. The time of your departure is not right, Think of your family, friends, this night, Keep faith that you fill them all with light, And don’t give them a terrible fright. I’ll listen to what you say, Dear God, I’m meant to be here, however odd, I don’t know who I affect with a nod, Or a smile, a word, my sexy bod! That made me smile, I’m glad you’ll stay, Your path is lit with love each day, Remember when there seems no way, Listen harder to the words I say. ShadowLight - Poetry by Anthor
