Seriously, I'd be pleased to see a pirate clan operating like in the good old days. The Brotherhood of the Coast was a vibrant clan with lots of participants. If someone can get it off the ground, I'll join.
PHC was a complete failure. I think it's fair to say that in this thread, isn't it? Whatever its original aims were, there was no coordination for attacking towns, no unity among pirates, nothing. Then a whole bunch of other clans got started that were supposedly practical alternatives to PHC (ie., Shipwreck Defense Force) but they were run by newbies who didn't know they were doing and so those failed too.
My (Dani's) goal is to build a newbie welcome clan specifically for new pirates, with the eventual aim of getting them out of the shipwreck and (almost) never coming back. I figure if someone goes down to the ship and spends enough time keeping newbies from dying every day and giving them stuff they need to survive, they'll listen to that guy when he starts talking about clans and organization. Sorry to disappoint you though, FAD, but it won't be Brotherhood of the Coast reimagined. it'll be more like the Cult of Petey Islam-style.
I'm not purposely dumping on you though, FAD. It's tough to organize pirates, and i'm hardly a shining example...case in point, this plan was supposedly my main focus, but then I decided to run for the Durham elections. Now it's a backburner project to occupy my time if Solemn somehow defeats me.
