To whom it may concern,
I have long known your Association and have always been a friend during my blockade running days under the alias of Kutless the pirate.
The SMA have always been merchants for peace and prosperity. But it seems that things have gone afoul and that the Association has turned from its old peaceful ways into an extortion racket similar to how the Mafia works.

I present you with evidence.

Here is the person involved:Marco Machetti
This is a savage fall from grace of the SMA. I ask the remaining members of the SMA to please offer an explanation to this event.
Being threatened by a member of the SMA is nothing light, for it disrupts the very fabric of my income.

Sincerely yours,
Rhaegar Targaryen

I've noticed this uncouth heathen as well.

If he bothers my lads, he'll have hell to pay.

Why should I negotiate with an upstart wannabe? I do not hold ties with any town, never did. I travel where I please. But you just made Durham a better place to visit again, if you know what I mean Wink

Mob? No signore, mob are bad people. We just want Durham to be a better town, nicely managed, with laundry, pizzeria and other places. All for our people. You understood, si?

Lately Durham looks a lot more interesting - open warfare in the streets, the British under attack by natives, whores and pimps plying their trade...  Roll Eyes

As MadPierre is a member of the SMA I have to point out this from the clan page, and the emphasis is mine:

Quote
Most members follow the adage, "Make money, not war."

When I joined the Privateers I had to point out that I was fine with killing people as long as I got to make some cash on the side. I'm still waiting for a pirate 'Looting/Plunder' skill so that MadPierre can fulfill his true potential. I don't think any sensible clan prohibits violence and SMA people do get picked on. I saw an SMA member killed in the Durham trader a couple of days ago and nobody batted an eyelid.

And shanking folks, apparently.

Why do the heathens always resort to violence?

Paperwork is so much more agonizing.

As a fellow member of the Shartak Merchants' Association. I do not agree with what you are doing.

Extortion and Racketeering are uncivil.

I would like to say something that seems extremely obvious...

It's not the Merchant's Association. That's just this guys only affiliation because he hasn't been high enough level to use clan leadership. So at the moment it's just three guys wandering the island at the moment (Made a character search yesterday).

Excellent.

If these ruffians DO shamble up and prod at my good lads, they shall get a major licking then.
