The point about the KOS list is more or less irrelevant given that the CP one hasn't been updated in god knows how long.  I am not aware of any other town on the island that is consistently assaulted by the likes of the Bills, the Criminal Sorority, the Brotherhood of the Coast (at least they're a decent bunch in terms people attacking you) and mass wailing by the Necromancers, and yet still manages to keep going.

I'm not going to get in the whole 'York vs Derby' debate, but I will stand against claims that York is some sort of anarchist state.

Perhaps it's because death is only an inconvenience in this game? If it was anything like playing Diablo II in hardcore, York would be a burned-down Tristram.

Correction Lukas, Yorks defense groups were the best on the island, things have changed if you didn't notice.

I see nothing to say we are not. Nobody has a record anywhere near as distinguished as ours. More proof of the safety of York is the disbanding of the YC. York was so safe that the YC became Defunct. Even Javier will agree with you there. Even if he is a traitor to his former home.

I will agree on the point about the YC.  In its time, it was probably the most effective fighting force on the island.  The problem was that it disbanded while the CP was on an inactivity spiral, and so other groups were able to run rampant.

As for how York is right now?  No idea.  I'm not there.
