On my way to Wiksik, I was accosted by a local and dispatched. I stood up, moved a few squares and was again attacked.

Can a trader not trade?

Wiksik has a strict no outsider policy.  They will not let you onto their turf at all, and for the most part, the surrounding countryside.  If you wish to trade, you should go to Raktam, by far the most accommodating of the native towns.

Dalpok is also closer to the shipwreck, but I'd guess they're more alert for attacking pirates there.
And make sure that your profile says that you're a peaceful trader, preferably on the first line. If it doesn't, or if it's lost among 50 lines of text, many Natives will probably assume hostility (assuming that if you're peaceful, you would put it in your profile)

Your profile won't save you, pirate scum...well, not anywhere near the shipwreck, anyway. Raktam will certainly be a lot easier on a pirate trader than Dalpok.

Can a trader not be aggressive as well?

Walk into the village. Sell your wares. Kill a couple of locals. Go home. Repeat.

Indeed.
I've actually seen outsiders survive there.

That's also a form of trading.

And I've seen several Outsiders in Wiksik.

Dead in Dalpok.

After a successful trade route was set up between the North Shartak Trading Company and the trader of the village, a barbaric native Darkkai64 pursued and killed me. He says "I killed an innocent Native". On what terms does he mean "innocent"? Innocent meaning he hasn't killed animals? Certainly not. He might have no Pirate kills, but I merely finished him off in a sense. And of course, he was from Raktam, not Dalpok. It's like me killing a native for killing a Yorker.

It's because you killed a native. Natives have stronger bonds with other towns then outsiders have. Natives are like one big happy family, but armed with blowpipes.

Glad to see your trying, but understand that pirates and natives do not have a good relationship.  90% of Pirates are killers, pure and simple.

Yes, but if you're peaceful then fewer people will attack you.

Uh, I think the definition of innocent for "peaceful" characters is that they didn't attack you first.
That kind-of reminded me of this time when some outsider killed me and accused me of attacking a friendly trader... when I never attack peaceful characters. I assumed he meant himself and was someone I had blowpipe-tagged for IFF purposes (I used to use blowpipes to get names, I have no idea why) and he had massively overreacted.
