Does anyone here play indie games? Can you recommend any good ones?
If you haven't played any before I recommend The White Chamber and Doukutsu Monogatari. I recently finished playing The White Chamber and i've known about Doukutsu Monogatari. They're both awesome games.

The White Chamber is a point and click horror adventure game with 2d anime style graphics. Although i'm not usually a big fan of western artists/companies that try to emulate the style of Japanese anime (it just dosen't work most of the time and usually ends up being unoriginal and embarassing) the artwork is actually really good, especially the backgrounds. The animation isn't the best, but the design of the setting and the quality of some of the artwork is pure awesome.
The soundtrack is another awesome feature - very professional and very creepy.
As for the story, I feel its best summed up as a cross between the film Event Horizon and the Silent Hill games. If you're a fan of puzzle/horror type games (something along the lines of the Alone in the Dark series) or sci-fi and horror in general, I recommend playing this.

Doukutsu Monogatari. (Cave Story) has been around for a while and gained a small cult following. Its a simple action/adventure platform game where you play an android that wakes up on a floating island with a network of caves inhabited by different races of strange creatures. It's gameplay is slightly similar to the early Megaman games for the SNES - you jump around and shoot things a lot and get different upgrades along the way.
One of the strong points of this game is the story - its unique cast of interesting characters and unusual setting will have you hooked to the end(unless you really really hate it the moment you start playing). Its a fun game to play thats easy enough to complete (excepting a few tricky boss fights) but hard to get all the secrets and different endings.
If you don't mind simple graphics and old-skool platformers, its well worth playing.

I don't know if I get the indie game term right, though for all of you already having pc's in early 90's and loving X-Com series I'd recommend ufo2k, game redone to allow you dueling with other X-Com fanatics.

I stopped playing it when they turned the 320x200 mode off

Indie games are just games released by independent developers, usually for free. The term is also assossiated with freeware and abandonware games as well. Some games like this turn out to be highly original, creative and fun to play, but a lot of them turn out to be terrible.
I heard a lot of good things about the X-Com series, but I haven't played any of the games yet. A lot of classic games like this have been remade or remastered by fans. Sometimes the results are as fun as the original games - The Ur-Quan Masters (Star Control 2) and -the best RTS in existence (at least until Supreme Commander is released drool mate)-Total Annihilation (its being remade as an open source project - it has a lot of potential).
