Asides for that, Christian hell is somewhat of a joke. If the Christian's are right, all I got to do is excape. If the athiests are right, I have no need to worry at all. So it's win-win.

There are tell of all sorts of demons and the ilk excaping hell to cause trouble on Earth. And I don't think god's such an that there isn't a way to leave. So, so long as there is spirit left, I'd fight my way out of Hell.

So, so long as there is spirit left, I'd fight my way out of Hell. Ignoring the fact that we are arguing over the rules of an imaginary place, aren't the demons being deliberately *allowed* out to cause trouble? It's not like they had to dig a tunnel with a spoon they stole from the cafeteria, is it? And while I have tremendous respect for you, I think you may overestimate your capabilities in the face of the Legions of Hell. As for God leaving a back door open, sorry, but I think that's Purgatory, isn't it? Once you reach Hell all bets are off. Eternally. That's sort of the point, I think. There's only one guy who came back from Hell, and he was God (allegedly).

If demons are released periodically to cause trouble, why couldn't I as well? Or better yet, if you turned on the demons, wouldn't that make you a force of good? Can you be forced to stay in hell if your spirit is a force of good? The rules on hell are written by beauricrates, and there is ALWAYS a loop-hole when dealing with beauricrates. And no, I believe I can move mountains if I had the time, and eternity is a long time. There is no reason to give up when you can make life better for yourself, even in Hell.

I imagined my escape from hell would work out the same way as this comic.

"...Imagine there's no Heaven... It's easy if you try..." Hell is real, and the pizza's real tasty (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell_Pizza)

Unfortunately, religion really does exist. As for Hell, I'm with Sartre; "L'Enfer; c'est les autres."

I think the afterlife is much what you make it, like life. you can wallow in your own guilt in hell, or you can be safe in the knowledge that you were a nice guy and deserve the comfy cloud and the instant harp skills. (no, thats not my idea of heaven)
what does that quote mean in layman's terms?

"Hell is other people". Quite a famous quote from the guy, but it has more meaning in whole, it is taken from a play called No Exit (3 folks are closed in an empty room):
"So this is hell. I'd never have believed it. You remember all we were told about the torture-chambers, the fire and brimstone, the "burning marl." Old wives' tales! There's no need for red-hot pokers. Hell is other people."
